Should I stop paying DRP????

Options
Firstly, I know there are 1000's of threads on this matter but would like a little clarifiaction with the fact it being in Scotland and that I've already kind of been suckered into paying some of this.

So I can't remember if it was for not paying the Dartford Bridge Charge or a PCN, but I came back from holiday to to find a letter from DRP which admittedly freaked me out a bit as I can't afford £110.00 worth of fees.

I stupidly called them and aggreed to pay £20 per month to pay it off. That is when I found all these threads about DRP being fraudsters and they can't do anything. So my question is, should I just stop the monthly payments to them as that £20 could go towards paying off a credit card or something more useful? And if so, should I write to them or just stop cold turkey?

Any advice is much appreciated!

I'm not sure that DRP are involved with Dartford Bridge charge recoveries. Usually DRP letters have a reference to which client they are acting on behalf of. Is there any such reference in your letter?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • if they have a recorded call conversation with you agreeing to pay them then they may see you as an easy target under Simple Procedure if you just stop paying. They have five years to take you to court so if you don't pay and move house make sure you have a redirect in place!
If you were not the driver write to the parking firm and tell them who was so they CANNOT hold you liable. The person who was driving the car is responsible so let them deal with it. Not you! Don’t let people with an agenda tell you otherwise.

Who are they acting for ??

It is wrong to call DRP fraudsters, to be a fraudster you need
to have intelligence, something DRP lack.

I agree with the sentiments about yourself.

How was this little deal setup, over the phone, by email
or a posted credit agreement for you to sign.

As DRP are only employed to chase and scare people and are
not the principal of the so called debt so they would need to
pass it back to the company who issued the charge

How much have you paid ?
Who is the parking company ??

How on earth does someone start paying something from a letter out of the blue without even knowing what it's for good grief!

The letter from the idiots at DRP must tell you who they are supposed to be collecting on behalf!

Euro Car Parks it will have been then in Edinburgh. I parked at one of their car parks 20min after the "FREE Parking" allotment time had ended.

The original fine was £60 (dropped to £40 as a favour from the company if paid within 14 days). Of course I missed the letter being out of the country. So DRP want £110 to which I've paid £60. I just login to their site and pay monthly installments but unsurprisingly when I went online to check how much I was due (as I had an issue with online banking for a week there) I couldn't find a "My Account" on the site which got me thinking I've been duped!

And as reply to the latter posting, I knew I had two fines, Dartford and PCN. I've recently moved to London and so haven't had time to leaf through belongings to remember which fine I paid outright and which I am paying via installment

Debt Recovery Plus CANNOT start court action!!!!!
ZZPS took the nurses to court on behalf of Ingigo (according to the nurses and their helpers who have posted here) so why can't DRP facilitate court action on behalf of Euro (obviously with Euro as the pursuer)?

NO ZZPA did NOT instigate court action , a company of solisitors started the case on behalf of the parking Co

DRP are debt collectors not solisitors

    Parking charge = £60
    You have paid = £60

You have settled the amount for Euro in full.

CANCEL any future payments to DRP as the extra £50 goes
into their pocket and as you have no contract with them that
relates to the parking charge, they cannot do anything

As long as they have paid Euro the £60, Euro will no longer
be interested and can go no further

I suspect you were hoodwinked by DRP making wild claims
to scare you ? Not something a court would appreciate

You are wrong, only Indigo can start proceedings by instructing
    a solicitor

ZZPS and DRP are simply middle men
As both clearly state "we will pass it back to the principle"
