It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Aw thanks guys that's very kind its only down by a smidge but its not up I guess. I really appreciate all your lovely kind words (and virtual baking).

Worked yesterday to keep topping up my TOIL for unexpected visits to the hoppytal and the furry hoppytal. Had work night out but that was paid ages back.

Had to clean out the fridge at work so a small food profit home and frozen as we're pretty strict on food dates for vols.

No food spends over weekend - cooked up ginormuous pumpkin as one of colleagues is birthdaying tomorrow so made a communal pot of (vegan) soup. We are all bringing in one goody food item for him to make him a wee chrissy/birthday hamper as he's on his own. I've raided my larder I have to be honest and found some tasty treats there.

Petrol £30 that's been the spends for the now. MIL here for weekend so DH looked after her - I was working (wreath workshop - very jolly).

Happy weekend folks and thank you. All quiet on the mother and mutt front. Thankfully.

    xxx

  • Ahh if your colleague with the birthday is the one I presume it is then say HB from me to him! Such a nice chap he is and it's so great that he's got a role he clearly loves so much!

Entirely get your working the weekend in the circumstances! :rotfl::rotfl:

Elder Hound will definitely be a fighter - stubborn wee lad he is.

And as for defeating the debt even a smidge this month - super awesome - just LOOK at how much extra you've had to spend, and STILL you're at that point, You really are super-incredible. xx

  • Well good morning aren't you guys very very kind.

I am so grateful for the community on here.

Yes EH the same chap who was long term unemployed and now is very much 'in the body of the kirk' at work, he's an utter gem. We had a mix and match lunch of vegan pumpkin soup, and a 'use up the work fridge' extraveganza it was just lush.

We made the fella a wee hamper of delights from our cupboards and everyone popped a wee something in - he was utterly delighted, he loves to cook that fella. Made me feel all warm and cosy inside. Probably the chilli in the soup.

Free pumpkin has been half used and the other half now frozen - even our young apprentices had two cups so it couldn't have been that bad and it fed everyone the next day. Amazing what you can do with half a pumpkin, a bit of bendy celery and a dodgy looking chilli. Add a dollop of coconut powder and mega transformation.

Starnac I hope you and yours are grand! Miss those wee cherubs. Give them a cwitch back from me. xxx I'll wave as we fly over your lands tomorrow.

Well its start of the housekeeping month day here.

I have been preoccupied all week with sorting bits out for the trip away. I know how to live eh - packing loo rolls and small bits of stock cubes/soup/porridge etc into little bags and stowing them in the suitcase.

    :)

I had a wee think to myself and I'm not feeling very adventuretastic at the moment with the list and everything that's going on, so I'm going to PAUSE this diary.

Yes PAUSE - I'm needing to really focus in on the daily routines and spends so no real adventure planning - they'll happen when they do.

I'm honestly needing to really really rope in any additional spending as the unexpected bit of spends (extra travel/etc, furry hospital bills and ongoing meds) need to be accommodated through real thought and a bit of a shift in mindset for me. I know I'm doing OK, but I have the MSE skills to be doing so much better I think.

Off to hit the new diary button I think, I know I'm a bit flibbertygibberty but please do indulge me.

    XOXOXOXOXOXO
