Virgin fibbing or is this legit?

Just been on webchat with Virgin, mainly to find out if the prices they list today include the Nov increase. Now, the guy I spoke to says that if i sign up then it will be that price for the full 12 months, even if virgin increased it again in January for example ( a la Talktalk, I guess). Now, I have the printout of the transcript, and a log of it saved, but has anyone else been told this, as I think I could be swayed if stuff isnt going to increase every 5 minutes?

The web chat isn't the contract, so irrespective of what was said on that, is not the agreement you will finally adhere to.

If you want a provider that doesn't increase yearly, don't go with vm.

Actually that's not 100% correct. Any verbal or written statements made by the company will typically form part of the contract.

(Otherwise a salesperson could say or write down anything to persuade you to buy something - then claim that what they said or wrote was not part of the contract.)

But if the written t&cs contradict what a salesperson has said/written, it would become a very messy case to argue.
