I have today's Times Revlon coupon (on back of Body & Soul supplement), but I can't see how you could 'just "remove" the Superdrug logo' on this one, JoanieMerc.

    Unless you're photoshopping and reprinting???

Don't get your hopes up on this one. I handed over about a dozen coupons today at T's (including the DM one). The only one that the till wouldn't take was the Times Revlon one. You get a certain beep sound if the till rejects it. The DM one had to be typed in manually but was accepted.

just a thought tho, hope sa's dont get into trouble for accepting these, makes me feel kinda bad if they do, think i'll reserve mine for the self scanners in future...

bout time i have some decent moc's, have found no h&b's, sb's, coop or asda mags anywhere.....

Page 22, There is a 2 for 1 token in the paper, then there is a token collect for a free entry, collect the tokens all next week then there will be a cliam form in fridays ed. HTH

Yes, thats what I was saying.
I should have quoted the first poster. Their post appeared to imply that the token collect was for a 2 for 1 voucher. I don't think that is the case, although of course we wont know untilmthe voucher appears but I would be very surprised if it wasnt just a free entry voucher

But with respect, it is this practice that causes clamp downs, SA intervention and coupon scrutiny

  • Just tried the £5.50 Daily Mail vouchers at both the local Asda and Tesco and we were rebuffed both times :(

I think it's ok as Tesco stock the book & it is a legitimate voucher.
I used another 2 today - 1 for each basketful. Like I said in my earlier post I have found these vouchers to be accepted for the first 10 days or so after issue & then they have been refused - I expect they become a *hot* topic of discussion at manager's meetings! :-)

But that's where you are wrong...

... and to explain for the umpteenth time like many others before me

This is not a "normal voucher" - it is a Book Token

Its usage is stated on the coupon and at the DM webpage

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/prmts/prmts.html?in_article_id=485930&in_page_id=1777

    QUOTE:
This token is redeemable at bookselling chains and most independent bookshops in the UK. Check that your bookshop is participating before you travel. Participating outlets can be viewed here

It can only be redeemed by members of the Booksellers Association

You need to look at https://www.nationalbooktokens.co.uk to see the list of members

Tesco & Asda etc are not members, unlike WHSmith & Waterstones who are.
A big clue is that can't BUY a Book Token at Tesco etc.

I hand in dozens & dozens of coupons at Tesco & Asda each month but NEVER use these DM Book Tokens. A senior accountant at a local Tesco Extra told me months ago that they are basically worthless bits of paper.

Unfortunately continued use of this DM token is very likely to jeopardize the entire acceptance policy of taking coupons without buying the products, and I'd sooner get £10 to £15 a week off my shopping for the next year (or 2 or 3 etc.) than £100 this month and next but then find it is stopped altogether.

Hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears!
