Hive and potentially switching suppliers

I hope you don't mind me asking here. Around four years ago we got a new boiler with British gas, as part of the package we had smart meters installed and BG home (or something similar titled) which allowed us to access our boiler remotely via the app and change temperature/ switch heating on or off. That app then became HIVE. I understand that BG can charge for this service (although we have never paid to use it).

I switched via MSE energy club a couple of years ago - but remained a BG customer on a different tariff. However in light of the impending price hikes I would like to look at other suppliers.

My question is - if we switch can we still use the hive system to control our heating or does this become defunct/ or chargable? Its a feature I really like but i don't know if other suppliers offer similar apps, Does any one have any experience with this and can guide me?

    Br Gas are currently offering Hive to anyone with a BG product (we have annual boiler cover with them only) for £9 pm with a footnote that it goes up to £10 if you stop taking that product. So it looks as if you'll be ok to switch. But why not simply ring them and ask?
