    I have found with Lloyds/Halifax/BoS that to set up a standing order, you have to type in the sort code account number from the beginning, rather than being able to choose an existing payee, which can lead to errors. With other banks I like to send a cursory £1 to make sure I've typed in the correct details before setting up a standing order for £1k or more!
