My credit file when leasing a car through work

As always, thanks in advance for your help!
Not 100% sure this is the right forum but here we go....
Mortgage is completing in a few weeks. We desparetly need a new car. The wife can use her job benefits and perks to get some type of discount for doing a three year lease or getting finance on a new car.
She works for M&S (in case that's relevant for anyone).
Their employee site states that the lease is taken out by M&S on your behalf.
What I'm getting at is this a safe way to get a lease without having our credit file touched and jeopardising our mortgage offer?

If it's a salary sacrifice scheme, post #2 would be relevant especially given that you are applying for a mortgage:

The reason I'm interested in this is that it appears the credit search is against the employers, not the driver... so I can't see how it would affect our mortgage app?0
