    Give the agent the opportunity to collect it and then, since they probably won't bother, you can use it for shovelling snow next winter

    +1 for give them one chance then use/abuse/dispose of as you see fit.

    Actually editing the sign to indicate that "so&so Estate Agents are a bunch of wicked fibbers" may not be prudent as it would probably count as libel as well as defacing someone elses's stuff, but the poles are usually handy lengths of robust wood, & well worth rehoming.

    When we moved into our house last year we took the sign down and left it in the front garden behind the hedge.

    When it was still there over a week later I phoned the EA and asked them to remove it and they did
