I actually know someone who is in a way similar to the person the OP knows. Hes mid twenties, still lives at home with parents,has worked but not for a couple of years. His brother has tried to encourage him to get a job but to no avail. It has been suggested he applies for a night shift job in 1 of the supermarkets but it fell on deaf ears .

There will come a point just like the OP's friend where his parents wont be around and what would he do for money.
