Credit Sale does seem like a hard search to me.
It was a few months ago. I doubt it will have any impact on your mortgage application.2.88 kWp System, SE Facing, 30 Degree Pitch, 12 x 240W Conergy Panels, Samil Solar River Inverter, Havant, Hampshire. Installed July 2012, acquired by me on purchase of house in August 20170 -

The one in the Apple Store was through Barclays, which refused me.
What I don't understand is why the Store would say it's a soft search and it turns out to be a hard search (I think).
Well if you applied for finance and were declined then it's a hard search.
Not sure you'll have much luck in getting it removed given as it will be your word against the Apple employee's and of course they'll never admit it.
Given that you applied for finance with Apple and then later took out a new contract with o2, 2 hard searches within a short space of time shouldn't make too much of a difference to your mortgage application.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. Thanks a lot. Quite apart from my situation, it's pretty bad that any retailer would tell a customer a search is 'soft' when it's in fact 'hard'?0

Which is why you should never rely on what they say especially given that most of the staff are not the sharpest tools in the box at the best of times and will often lie to meet their sales targets and instead do your own research or actually ask to see the T&Cs before they do anything.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. More realistically they simply don't know - rather than "lying".0
