Slight change to the system of entering received items from next week.

Hi! As you know, some of the items you receive are sent to you with APL postage. The APL labels on these items have a QR code and a string of alphanumerical characters called the ‘PRN number’. From next Monday, 27 January onwards, there will be a small change to the way you enter your receiver items. When entering items you have received with APL postage, you will be asked to scan the QR code on the APL label or type in the PRN code. Our mobile app has a built-in QR code reader, so you can use this to scan the code instead of typing in the PRN code. You don’t need to download a separate QR code reader - all you need to do is allow the app to access your camera the first time you’re asked. If you’re accessing your panellist account from a browser or on a desktop device, you will be asked to type the PRN code. If you have any problems entering your items on the app please update the app and turn off the “dark mode” if you’re using an iPhone. Any questions, drop us a message.

Looks like another move towards app based entry as this is much easier on a smartphone.

Sounds like they don't trust our data entry skills. Wonder how the app will stop panellists writing posting details on the envelope which is common. Look forward to that app enhancement.:rotfl:

Anyone who received a Kantar diary should amend the date of the May bank holiday from Monday 4th to Friday 8th.

Apparently more than half the diaries sold this year have the wrong date. They were printed before the government decided to change it.

It may well be a Bank Holiday - Spring Break (Late May whatever) but it's also .......

  • They have now clarifed the situation with incentive stamps. The reason they now send out stamps at the end of the training period is you no longer get any incentive for training! The first stamps you receive now cover your first live period.

I think they risk putting new panellists off by not offering stamps incentive for training periods, especially as all the surveys seem to be getting longer and longer and the rewards commensurately less.

Incidentally I found the Kantar server wouldn,t load this morning. Problem now seems to be resolved though.

Hi, new panellist here, have done my training period and am now sending items to other people, not just West Bromwich :D. Also got the above message. Can someone help me out and tell me what APL, QR and PRN stands for? I know it is obvious once you know, but I have no clue and could not find anything on the website/FAQ either. Thank you! To me it is not obvious what I need to scan, but perhaps it doesn’t apply to my items?

APL - Automated Postage Label, the sticker the post office puts on parcels instead of stamps when you pay over the counter for postage.
QR - Quick Response Code, the square made up of dots on that label, it is similar to a barcode but contains a lot more information. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_code
PR - the number on that label starting PR.

Thank you so much! That explains it then; I have only done items with stamps on so far, so most of that new stuff does not apply to me (yet).

If you log-in to the website you'll find there's a notice there about it and it includes a picture showing where the QR and PRN items are.

You still get stamps but it is at the end of the training period and then when you go live then you get another lots of stamps with the presentation ones. I know this information is correct because I have recently completed my training again and just started on the live mail.

However 5 cubes next week. Oh well!

I think that's totally unreasonable and very bad planning on Kantar,s part, especially if you live a long way from a post office.
