    Thanks for information NBLondon.

It looks like I made the same mistake as others have. I had completed the 3 weeks Unaddressed Mail surveys, and as this is still showing at side of screen, thought I was still doing it.

Checked messages, and I had finished.

I have a jiffy bag to post and the online instruction says to hand it over the counter at a post office. On all other occasions I have posted a jiffy bag in the postbox outside the post office, as per the guidelines.

Has anyone else handed a jiffy bag over the counter?

    TIA for any replies.
Same here. I am sure the "hand over" bit was not on the on line view last week.

I thought the whole idea of doing these surveys was to do them anonymously. Handing envelopes or Jiffy bags over to the post office counter clerk hardly keeps you below the radar does it ?

Well if we now have to hand small items over the counter then thats me out.
I live in a villiage & that would just not work on a regular basis.

  • I rang the helpline about this. The line was bad and I struggled to make out what the girl was saying, however I did hear her say that I could do either - I could hand it over the counter or put it in the postbox outside the post office.

I had the call on speakerphone and my other half thought he heard her say to pop it in the postbox if the post office was busy. I must admit I didn't hear that, but I am a bit deaf, which doesn't help.

Anyway, the post office was quiet so I handed it in, and asked for proof of posting as a way of explaining why I hadn't put it in the postbox. When asked what was in it, I just said it was a bundle of papers.

I think I should have just put it in the postbox, but I am retraining after a couple of years off and at the back of my mind I was wondering if the 'post office' bit was part of my training, to see if I was reading the online instructions. Giving it more thought, I'm sure I was wrong there - more than likely just a hiccup with the software or a computer input error, at a guess.

I agree - it's suddenly appeared on my items for next week as well. I also suspect it's probably a glitch in the website programming..

Cubes are Small Parcel and have to be handed over so maybe that's why we get more cubes than we used to. If they did want to check other items handed over the counter then HomingPigeon has the solution - get a Proof of Posting as a reason for queuing instead of just dropping in a box - but TNS should be paying the £2 incentive for that time spent whether its a Cube or a Jiffy or a DVD box.

I have it easier than some in that I am in London where there are plenty of post offices in walking distance but over the last few years; the ones that open early or close late (i.e. more than 9 to 5) are getting rarer. When I work from home - no problem but other days; I used to be able to drop a cube off at 0815 on the way to the office or 1755 on the way back but now I have to think where I am going to be at lunchtime or make detours.
I need to think of something new here...

Just received our voucher for doing the correctly delivered survey 28/5/18-10/6/18 :)
Hopefully the one for the unaddressed survey will be here soon.

Message in news feed on website:

We've changed the posting location for some items from Post Office to Postbox so you might notice a difference between your paper and online schedules over the next few days.
