Who was aware that Ofcom have no power to investigate billing disputes with TV Subscription services ?
I was just about to enquire from Ofcom whether Sky charging a one off £10 admin charge for keeping up a contract is legally enforcible when I discovered the above fact !!!

It's not for 'keeping up' a contract though, it's only charged if extending or changing the contract. It's up to the consumer whether they pay it or not, they can always vote with their feet.
Insurance companies have been doing it forever.
I'm not surprised Ofcom are uninterested.0 -

It affects anyone who decides to remain with sky on an unchanged contract - so I said "keeping up" !!
Are you sure on that? The only mentions of the admin charge on the lengthy haggling thread are from people who have renegotiated a discount period (therefore, not an unchanged contract). I have yet to see anyone who has let their contract roll on with the exact same terms and also been charged this.0 -

He's talking nonsense, Sky won't offer the extension and charge you £10 for the privilege.0 -
Ofcom do not handle individual complaints. The Communications Ombudsman will look at your case once you have gone through Sky's own complaints procedure. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

This is due to being given a £12.80 discount for 18 months !!
but still seems unfair
nothing heard back from the CEO yet .0 -
I DO have an additional £10 "offer administration" charge added to my bill for next month.....

Is this a £12.80 per month discount for 18 months (£230) or a £12.80 total discount for agreeing to 18 more months of service (0.71p per month) if it's the latter , why on earth would you agree to such a miserly discount, surely better to keep the option open to leave with the minimum notice,if it's the former, then it still £220 off, although it's sneaky to say £230 when its effectively £2200 -

That's my point which you keep skipping over, you claim that people who are offered the extension to their existing discount without being asked are being charged £10 and it's clearly nonsense. The extension is also a rolling monthly deal.
You scheduled a cancellation and then renegotiated a new discount which tied you into an 18 month contract, you also agreed to the £10 admin fee otherwise they wouldn't have put you on the deal.

They 'might' fold on the £10 fee for you (or anyone else) but Ofcom won't be interested as it's hardly hidden and it's up to the consumer to agree or not. Insurance companies have been charging admin fees for decades.0 -
If the OP has even commenced the official complaints procedure he will have realised that Ofcom play no part in the procedure whatsoever.
As has already been said, Ofcom have no powers to investigate an individual's complaint.0
