This morning my husband asked me if I would take out a £2,000 loan for him in my name! Don't worry I said No

Excellent progress on those savings and the loan is coming down nicely. Has your husband been furloughed? What is the £2k for? Yes he’s on furlough until end of June on full pay.He said the loan is to pay off his overdraft and credit card but I’m not convinced it’s just for that as yesterday he was moaning he’d run out of money. He said he applied himself but was rejectedI know his credit card balance is £450, not sure on the overdraft. Was probably to pay off both and spending money I reckon2

Not sure how he has run out of money in these lockdown times if he is on full pay. Most people, ourselves included have saved money because there is literally nothing you can spend it on other than food. Alcohol and cigarettes too I guess. If he was rejected he must have a lot more than £450 on a credit card unless he defaults regularly. He must of got money somehow as since asking me for the loan and me saying no he says he's ordered some gifts for me as its my birthday tomorrow and he played golf last night that cost him £25
I've learnt not to ask or get involved as it just stresses me out
As for me I cant say I've noticed too much of a difference as I hate shopping and spending money in general anywayhaha
Probably have spent a bit more on food as we're all at home all day

Happy birthday for tomorrow and yes probably best not to get involved with his finances if as you say it stresses you out. Glad you did not get the loan. Maybe your husbands mum gave him money.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
