  • That is only £360 and if you add the £40 fuel that comes to £400. He has a massive spending problem if he can get through that in just over a week. Not your problem though and just be pleased you have separate finances. Sounds like he can't afford the gym membership.

Totally! He's put more than £40 of petrol in since pay day, his brother lives about an hours drive away. I'd say he's done about £150 of petrol since he got paid in January.
The next thing will be he'll want to go back to pooling our money...……...no thanks!
£800 would last me about a year haha
  • You are doing very well sticking to your guns. I’m with you £800 - I’m not sure I spent that much last year 😜

Not much to report, 2 weeks until payday.
Went to Superdrug in my lunch hour and spent £13, but I did get 4 items for that. I only buy cleanser, moisturiser, shampoo etc when the current ones Im using run out so all were needed purchases :)
Then went to the toy shop as my son is invited to a classmates birthday party on Saturday so needed to buy a gift, got something for £3.75! Bargain! Never met her before so I don't feel too bad haha

When I pick him up tonight we're going to the barbers as he needs a haircut, that'll be £9. Will use the joint money for that :)
  • Had to spend some money on the house this week;
£180 having part of the bathroom window replaced that had shattered
£90 having the oven and extractor hood cleaned (extravagant I know but its only once a year)
£104 on buildings & contents insurance (I pay for the year in full)

This has all come from my own money (except the insurance, husband pays his half to me monthly in the bills/food money).
He's now run out of money until he gets paid on Tuesday. I know he'll ask me so I'll just point out I've spent over £300 on OUR house this week so no.
Hope the Bank of his Mum is open hahaha!

Had my letter, I'm getting a bonus of £2,200 (before tax unfortunately :D ) that will be paid in the March payroll, so will get it on 31st March.
My salary is being increased by £1,100 a year. Of course I've already worked out my new take home pay, should get an extra £60 a month

Thank you, of course I'm in 2 minds what to do with it.
Would be a shame for it to disappear straight away, if I put it in my savings account would only push my debt free date back by about 3 months (as I've been paying off around £600 a month)
If it was going to take years off I might be more tempted
Of course I could just quickly send it to the loan on the 31st and pretend I've never had it haha
