Just caught up on your diary! What a journey, you are doing so well! Im sorry you are having a tough time getting your OH on board, however, you are doing the right thing not bailing him out now - he has to learn!
Your savings are so impressive!!!! I am going to take some tips from you as i really am not a natural saver, but would love to be.
Massive congrats on your pay rise xMy debt free journey, diary and all! New Life Pending :beer:0 -
Thank you
My New Years Resolution is to say NO whenever husband asks for money
He's signed up for a £50 a month gym membership now. I think he's mad but hey ho
Luckily its one of those that's not a 12 month contract he can cancel anytime0 -
£50 a month! Where does he think thats going to come from! Is he still drinking or has his NHS appointment helped? My debt free journey, diary and all! New Life Pending :beer:0

He still drinks most days (last night he had 2 glasses of wine which is less than in the past), what's the point of going to the gym but also drinking and smoking?!0 -
Well that's exactly what i was thinking lol!
Maybe he is seeing this as a way to improve his health, which could suggest he knows how unhealthy hes being - completely counter active of course but you never know!My debt free journey, diary and all! New Life Pending :beer:0 -
We’ve decided not to go abroad this year on holiday, will go next year instead.
That means I can send my bonus to the loan. Bit of shame that I can’t use it for something nice or save it but oh well0 -
Husband asked me for money this morning, so he's obviously ran out.
He gets paid next Friday, 24th January
I said No I don't have any
He left for work in a right mood, and he's since tried calling me 3 times (I didn't answer as was dropping son to school then driving to work)
STRESSED!0 -
It sounds like he can't afford a holiday this year anyway. I would ge5 rid of that loan ASAP anyway. No savings account will give you 2.9% interest and the sooner it goes the sooner you get that £187 to save towards a new car or whatever. Sorry you are being harassed for money by your husband. No advice there I am afraid but I hope he stops this pattern of behaviour soon.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. My bonus will hopefully be around £1,600 after tax etc so if I send it straight to the loan I've worked out I could get it into the 5's by March if I send a bit extra:
Balance today: £8,252
After Feb £187: £8,065
After March £187: £7,878
Use £1,600 bonus: £6,278
So if I send an extra £279 the balance will be £5,999 :rotfl:0 -

That would be fantastic. Really good use of a bonus if you are not using it for a holiday.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
