Bin men strike

Make sure any identifying evidence is shredded and leave you rubbish bags outside the entrance to the council offices.
And hope they don't pick you up on CCTV and prosecute you for fly-tipping.
If I lived in Birmingham I'm sure I'd be frustrated with the situation too but advising people commit a criminal offence seems unhelpful.0 -
It's been going on for a lot longer than 2 months! That might of been when the council started acknowledging that there was a dispute but there has been problems with rubbish collections going on for many months. It has been going on since early February to my knowledge and I only put out the wheelie bin every 5 to 6 weeks due to a minimal amount of weekly rubbish as a single person.
There is a mountain of smelly bin bags on the street because all the wheelie bins are full up. The last recycling collection was missed for the very first time. They always seemed to manage to get that collected, it's a pity that they could not put the same effort into collecting the smelly household rubbish.
The dispute has altered and now the bin collection people now return to base for their breaks and lunch which is leading to less collections than previously because of all the extra travel time.
The council website uncollected waste/recycling never shows all the missed streets, it only shows what has been reported. I have reported it on a couple of occasions but it has to be reported on the same day as the collection or they do not allow any reports. They did arrange a waste collection twice but the last time was on a day when my wheelie bin was not out. I just dump the bags on the street now.0 -

Maybe club together with a few friends and neighbours and take turns going to the tip? Or ask a friend in a neighbouring council area to help out....0

Sorry, but I just get irritated with these sanctimonious people who like to come across as self-rightous and superior once they get in front of a keyboard.
The point I was trying to make that by making some kind of a stand against the bureaucrats who are supposed to be doing good by us and aren't should be shown that we common folk shouldn't have to put up with their inefficiency in looking after our basic needs properly. Keeping households and the environment clean is one of our basic rights. You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

Wait do you have two different usernames for this site as this is your first post under this username :rotfl:
Can you point to where the person was being self righteous and superior?
You have every right to tell people to fly tip (hopefully you practice what you preach) just like someone has the right to say its against the law. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
