    previously i paid £65 for insurance -TV price was around £400.
    my current home insurance excess is £250 for accidental damage.

    please advise good TV insurance companies who will replace or pay without hassle..

    thanks.

    xyz111 - you do seem to have problems with the principle of insurance.

    One of your other threads:

    "home insurance v/s individual insurance

    I have home insurance (property and content) -would that cover for electronics items as well.
    Please advise as i keep buying (duplicate) insurances for individual items for one reason that i will have to keep reusing from home insurance as things frequently go wrong with individual items (thus multiple claims using home insurance).

    what is the best course...

    thanks."

    Other than a buildings and contents insurance - I never buy any extended warranties or insure any items.

    xyz111 - you do seem to be taking a very pessimistic approach. My TV is 15 years old - never broke, ditto washing machine, dishwasher.
    Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

    i just used up my TV insurance for TV which was only just over a year old (therefore manufacturing warranty expired) and my kid poured milk in it so it went pear shaped... : )

    I suspect the type of policy you want ie covering accidental damage for TVs with a very low excess doesn't exist or if it did the insurance company would likely go bust because of the fraudulent claims it would attract from those fancying a new telly who might be prone to "accidentally" pouring a drink down the back.

    Correction: my home insurance excess limit is 250gbp so will not be suitable to claim using it.

    the previous policy provider won't sell to me again as they only sell for goods bought from ebay! that's the point i was trying to make !!

    I'm struggling to understand this. A standard contents policy will cover your contents for loss in the event of, for example, burglary, fire, whatever. You have the option of paying extra for accidental damage - e.g. over-enthusiastic use of the Wii remote, paint spillage, etc.

    I've never come across a policy that only covers items bought from a specific retailer - or are you confusing insurance with guarantees ?

    these are the wording for my policy:
    * cumpulsory excess = 50gbp
    * voluntary excess =0gbp
    *total excess =50gbp
    *escape of water excess =325gbp
    *accidental damage excess =250gbp
    high risk items: high risk items are tv etc.

    please advise...

    Why don't you simply ask various insurance companies for quotes? The thread was posted four days ago, but in around forty minutes you could have got all the answers you need direct from the companies concerned.

    No one here will recommend specific companies, that would effectively be advertising and is against forum rules.

    To be fait to the OP, the board does say reclaim PPI '& other insurance'. I suppose the OP fixated on the 'other insurance' and not the reclaiml part.

    Perhaps thread should be moved to the Insurance board?
