Wren Kitchens

After having fitted customer supplied kitchens over 25 years, being a trustworthy tradesmen and having multiple accounts with other kitchen suppliers, I am utterly disgusted with wrens customer service.
After numerous visits to wren by the customer and to the customers address by wren staff, designs were finalised and the customer was very happy with the showroom and the service that they received.

Unfortunately that's not the case.

Today after having checked all overall measurments supplied we proceeded to remove the old existing kitchen.
There are a number of issues I ran into when building their new kitchen.

Their supplied sink would not fit in their supplied unit.
After numerous phone calls to the store, the customer agreed to pay nearly £700 for the supply of 2 new units to solve the problem which we were told they would have to be purpose made as with all their kitchen units.

Kitchen design placed a fridge freezer right next to an oven. Although all information supplied with the fridge states that this should not happen.

The integral fridge has been placed right next to a wall with the door opening opposite the wall which gives around 400mm access to the fridge.

Having been told that all units are made to order, we have been told to turn the door around on the fridge housing unit it leaves exposed screw holes which they consider is acceptable.

Worktops that was supplied are the wrong colour (silver, supposed to be black) and ready cut do not fit as they have been cut too small and the customer has been asked to pay over £1000 for them to supply new worktops.

Although I can consider some of these to be genuine mistakes and reasonable faults to which the original planner has put his hand up to. He has taken commission from the customers payment of over £11000 and Wren are still not willing to help in any way or form.

I am appalled at how Wren treat their customers and this will be the 1st and last Wren kitchen that I fit. I strongly recommend that anyone considering a kitchen with Wren should look elsewhere.

You only have to search on here for Wren to see there are any complaints about this company.

Certainly not a company who I will be using to supply my new kitchen!

(Ps - who would you recommend??)

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

This should be in the vents board so ideally it should be moved there.

But as for recommendations then for the middle ground Howdens do some really nice stuff and they look great for the price.

I use Trade-point for the budget end because I can pick it straight off the shelves and as yet never had a problem with either.
Never had cause to go for high end but I suspect there will be a few specialists in your area to cater for that.

Never used any of the other mainstream ones such as Wickes because never had to as they have never offered anything pricewise to make me want to.

Note however Howden's need a registered account holder to purchase for you. The bigger volume the account holder buys from them the cheaper the price. It's generally not very difficult to find someone with an account, most tradesmen have one.

Thanks bris. We are fitting our kitchen ourselves as can't afford to pay a fitter and get a nice kitchen, so just starting to look around at what we want.

MY daughter has just had a bad experience with Wren kitchens. They had paid the deposit before I realised who they had chosen.

We are getting a new kitchen soon and are buying from DIY kitchens and fitting it ourselves.

Going by their advert I saw on Channel 4 last night they there must be two Wren kitchen companies. There was no mention of problems of the type that have graced this forum for a number of years!

I saw it too and they had the gall to call themselves the Number One kitchen supplier or similar.

To be fair, the "Number one" could refer to anything.

In this case, clearly the Number One company for complaints about them!

  • Would avoid like the plague, we've had a terrible service regarding their worktops.
We decided to purchase the worktops from Wren as they promised a 2 week wait time for them to be installed.
So initially we were given the date of 28th November, then a few days later after booking a fitter 2nd December then last night another email saying delayed until 17th December. No doubt another email is on it's way saying it won't be done until next year.
Wren promise that the worktops will be with us within 2 weeks yet we'll be waiting a minimum of 6 weeks if they stick to the last date given which is clearly very unlikely.
Wren are fully aware with the issues with their supplier j rotherham judging by the number of negative reviews here yet they continue to peddle the lie of 2 weeks for the worktops in order to secure your money.
The contract you sign is based on a lie, there's no way I or other customers would have gone with wren for the worktops if they'd been honest with us.

Wren still arent any good like but this post is from last year, theres got to be a more recent one you could tag on or even better, put up your own so others can see clearly the number of complaints and prevalence of them.
