  • Thank you for your reply on EH thread about couch to 5k . Once the lurgy has gone I am going to try it on the treadmill in the gym as you said. It will make use of the gym and feel like achieving something.

I used these podcasts last time: http://www.c25k.com/podcasts.htm You can download them and then move to itunes to get them onto your phone.

Not keen on the music but he talks in the right places and they worked for me. There used to be a thread somewhere on MSE about it which was what set me off. After a few weeks I just got totally into it, loved running, loved the switch off and watching gardens grow as I went round the edge of the village. Miss running hugely. Stupid fibro

I can't remember which one I used, but it was one that let me use my own music with it.

I love running. I need to get back to it - for my mental health as much as my physical health. Can't start this week as I have no washing machine.

Yes, think runkeeper does that. And my personal favourite for the boys is 'zombierun' which definitely does let you use your own music but the Bob ones are very 'just 30 seconds more, keep going' rather than buzz to run, buzz to stop.

I thought you owned about ten lots of kit :p

I own lots of kit, but I don't want smelly running stuff lying around. Do you know how bad it smells?:o Maybe I need a sealed laundry bin? or a nappy bucket?

  • And can anyone explain to me why accountants seem to want to leave tax returns until this point when they can be done and submitted any time from April? I always used to do mine as soon as I could to avoid delaying the painful process, but this time of year is ALWAYS full of folk saying about needing to do them! SO pleased to not have to do one any more though - although it never took long it was always a bit of a faff.

I'm afraid I can't blame the accountants for that one EH, we were a bit slow getting our paperwork to them (ahem), although there was an issue with them not receiving our emails which lost us a month .

Tax returns (OH's) and procrastination go hand in hand here, too.

No coats - I'm not sure it would, EH. He's a dreamer. I also suspect that they may have been picked up by others already. The shopping list has now grown to include school trousers and shoes, a winter coat and a thinner waterproof jacket. I can live with the coat, as it's already on its second winter, but the waterproof was quite new. :(
  • Hope the coats turn up MrsC, you know I share your pain on this front. Reminds me, last week we got back the PE kit that was lost at Easter. Obviously none of it fits anymore...

Grenbee mentioned cake, and DIA mentioned cake and I have had a difficult work day and I needed cake. No spare eggs, very little fat. Rather than go to the co-op I cobbled together a banana and cinnamon flapjack type thing. It was ok rather than anything great but it used up the last of the soggy bananas (20p for 8 the other day) and it didn't take long to cook, unlike my preferred banana bread.

£10 voucher from SB then I frittered 99p of it on a kindle book so I did spend today. I buy the Georgette Heyers if they go to 99p, Frederica this time which is one of my favourites.

Dinner was curry from the freezer so that was easy.

I'm off tomorrow, and I could nip up the motorway, go to the swedish place (bookcase for DS1) and have a look at the boots sale and the tkmaxx clearance with my voucher. Or I could be sensible and do some cleaning and the tax stuff.

Oh I haven’t read a Georgette Heyer for a long time. Loved Jean Plaidy as well. Her books fired up my interest in history when I was a teenager!
