Afternoon, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Spent most of the morning at the Drs. OH's dizzies have surfaced again, I wondered if he had an ear infection, no, so no idea whats going on. I however have a bladder infection, so medication, the Dr also gave me the number to ring the cardiology consultant and see about the appointment they cancelled.
Back home a neighbour came over with a bag of fabric, it is a hexagon quilt that has been started........it stinks of cigarette smoke......no idea what I am going to do with it., if anything.
We had a shower of rain just before lunch, did not last long. OH has been cutting back the bushes in the front.
Afternoon tea yesterday was ok, we went to the garden open day, got caught in a shower there too, on to DD2's. DD1, DGD and baby turned up with my ex........atmosphere was a little strained to say the least, although I did get to hold the baby for more than a couple of minutes. We were glad to come home.
Ham salad with jacket spud tonight. I have a couple of ripe nectarines will chop them up into a couple of meringue cases and have them for dessert with some cream.0 -
Afternoon all
A bit of a late post however I have not sat down doing sfa ( except for watching the Dr Strange film this afternoon which I really enjoyed) This morning was spent looking in several timber yards for some new wood as one of the slats has broken on the garden bench. So we decided to replace all the slats but use thicker wood. It seems you can't get the thickness and the width, just one or the other. Finally settled on wider stuff and DH will rip it in half with the circular saw. That will keep him busy in the shed instead of under my feet :rotfl:. He's up there now tidying up before he makes more mess !
We also called in DD's to put out the bin, collect more piggy food and water her plant. The piggies have been fed, watered and cleaned out again. All they seem to do is eat, sleep, wee, poo and squeak every time they hear the fridge door opening !
I have put out our bin and recycling too with and extra bag full of papers which were sorted out from the office/library/ dumping ground over the weekend. There is also a large bag of books ready to go to charity.
I have stripped the roast chicken carcass and tea tonight will be leftover cold chicken and oven chips. There are enough chicken bits for tomorrow's tea too, perhaps we'll have rissoles or sweet and sour.
Enjoy your evening and hugs to all.
Congrats Elf06.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
I so agree far too much creeping americanism for my liking, whats on earth the idea of end of term 'proms' this is the UK not middle America. One of my DGS when he left primary school at 11 for senior school they had an end of term prom and all the little girls were expected to dress up in frothy clothes and the boys in smart suits and ties DGS Henry was 11 for goodness sake and hated the idea of wearing a tie said he felt like a right idiot He is happier in jeans and a tee shirt and he had no intention of asking any of the girls to dance as he said girls are soppy !!!
Nice day with my friend, and she gave me lots of small balls of wool left over from her crochet squares so they will go into my wool stash for the charity blankets. She also brought down a Lonely Planet guide to Japan for DGS Ben who is going to Tokyo with his g/f September.
Just sitting drinking a nice coffee one of the boys made me, sun is out and shining at least
Cheers chums

Quick update on Rosie dog, she was getting no better and gums showing signs of dehydration so called the vet out ( she HATES the surgery with a vengeance and gets very distressed if we go in) and he has prescribed tablets for possible infection and a probiotic pasts to bind her up.
If no better tomorrow morning she will have to go in and be put on drip, have bloods taken etc.
Am currently poaching chicken to tempt her appetite as little and often if she can would be best.
Poor old dog, she looks right fed up, she's my baby and hate to see her poorly0 -
(DOGGY HUGS) for poor Rosie. I hope she has improved by the morning and there is no need for her to go on a drip. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Afternoon - the rain has stayed away and the sun is out but it's still very blowy. Unfortunately I haven't got any washing to put out.
It's been a quiet day so far. Went into work for a couple of hours to sort some things out and got inveigled into an 'end of semester lunch' next week, it's only been seven weeks since the end of the semester!
When I arrived back my cleaner was still here as she'd started late so we had a wee natter. It was her husband and his brother who did the garden clearing out yesterday.
Now I'm sitting with the front door open enjoying my book. Nothing much else to report.
Hope to hear that doggies are better, hubbies are behaving and children are doing well.0 -

Me too. Livewire had a graduation ceremony when he left nursery a couple of weeks ago. He goes to school in September. Cost his Mum and Dad £20 for the photo. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
