Good morning everyone :hello:
It's dry here at the moment and the sun is trying to come out so hopefully it will be a nice day today. Steve has left for work and the girls are all fast asleep still. I am another early riser as I can get stuff done while I have the energy. I am going to make a chicken and leek pie in a minute for dinner tonight.
Becky has her therapist coming at lunch time, I have my fingers firmly crossed that it goes a lot better than last week as it was a complete disaster last time. I do feel quite anxious about it as it took days for Becky to feel better after her last session.
My poor mouth is still sore and to add insult to injury I had raging toothache for four hours yesterday in the tooth the dentist left for next time. I have to wait 6 weeks for my next appointment so I predict lots of painkillers in my future.
I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
I've had a very busy weekend but have read back and wanted to have a rant on JUDI's behalf. It's simply unacceptable that a man should consider that he should control all a couples money just because he is the wage earner outside the home. If I were you Judi I would start billing him for house cleaning, washing, ironing and cooking at a commercial rate so that he sees what he would have to pay someone if you weren't there. How about some backdated bills for childcare for his children over the years as well? I'm sure your husband would consider me a !!!!!!!!!! because I've only worked outside the home for a relatively small number of years but my DH is more enlightened and we have always had a joint account and he never questions my spending on anything - whether it's a frivolity for me or something from the house.
I won't go on, but I'm still furious after reading your post a couple of days ago.
We had a lovely weekend with extended family this weekend and luckily the weather co-operated for the visit to London Zoo yesterday, we had a great time there and a lot of the animals were around which was good.
Poor Ziggy-pup was tormented a bit by the children, not unkindly, they just wanted to play with her so we had to be firm about time-outs and quiet periods. I think in the end she seemed to have developed a bit more independence, not needing someone with her all the time so it may have been all t the good.0 -
I don't know what word was edited but I'm sure it wasn't a rude one - I think it was free loader (only just one word).0

Good morning.
After yesterday's torrential rain I'm hopeful of a better day. My cleaner will be here about 11.30am so, once she's arrived, I'll go out to college. There's a couple of things I need to print off, a form to complete for the SQA and then pay a cheque into the bank. Actually, thinking about it I'll hold off on the cheque for now as there's another one coming in later this week.
Right, enough for now. I need to make a start, I'm another one who habitually wakes early and really enjoys it. However, this morning I dropped off again, and really enjoyed that too.
Happy Monday to everyone.0 -
Morning everyone,
Bright and sunny here but feel a bit wrung out as have been up with my old dog most of the night, poor thing has another upset tummy. I have just given her a scrambled egg with a little cooked rice and am hoping that settles things down, if not will be calling the vet outProblem is like most labs she is a scavenger and living in the country as we do she has loads of opportunity to pick up and eat rubbish.
So, not sure what today will hold, luckily it's good weather so the doors can be permanently open, the WM is on and I have enough to keep busy whilst keeping an eye on her.
Hope today is positive for Becky Dumpling x
Have a good day folks x0 -
Morning All
I agree with you about the baby showers, I would rather wait until the baby has arrived.
WM just finished and I've done the ironing, will put it away when I go upstairs. Emptied all the bins last night and house clean and reasonably tidy.
DD picked up her new car yesterday afternoon and her and bf came for dinner. I have to blow my own trumpet and say that my effort of a vegan meal was lovely, so tasty and nice to do some 'proper' cooking. Plenty left for me today to heat up later.
Not sure what I'm doing today apart from staying warm and dry, it's a balmy 12 degrees here and pouring down!
Happy Monday everyone. Take care. XX0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Holly.
CHS has been dropped at work, I'm having a cuppa and a quick surf then it's on with the housework, or should that be boatwork.
I've uploaded my receipts from yesterdays shopping on to receipt hog, I'm never going to get rich as I don't shop much but every little helps.
The washing is on the airer under the cratch cover, the side are up, if it rains I can pull them down.
The kettle has boiled so it's time to do the washing up.
Have a good day everyone.

Lainey sympathy re Lab tummies - Labs sure are stomachs-on-legs, and you have to have eagle eyes and super-quick reflexes to stop them eating rubbish. Healing vibes on the way.
Wash bin is nearly empty; I did a load of Mr LW's stuff yesterday, and mine today, including a dress that runs better than usain Bolt.
Next up is my tax return. I may be some time......If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Good day all - another non sleeper here. Bed at around midnight....still awake after 1am. Finally dosed off only to wake at 4 needing to get up and take painkillers for this darned back!
As for babyshowers - my mum didn't attend her own haha. It was organised on her behalf and she was mortified at the thought so didn't go! Lots of babies in my work place just now but thankfully no babyshowers, just work place collections.
Today is, sadly, a working day for me. After so little sleep and a niggly back its the last thing I want or need but, as was said before, onwards and forwards. I have a few things to post before work and I have a lot of things I want to research whilst at work so that should keep me busy....that is assuming, of course, that I am not actually all that busy at work!
I have a little bit of exciting news......my goodies that I make and sell are going into a wee shop in town. Opening date is still under discussion but I am very excited (if not a little nervous as its a bit of an outgoing I hadn't planned for).
Oh and in other good news.....the pupster (not really a pup but he's MY pupster) is getting much much better with other dogs. Our training is obviously paying off and although some days are better than others I am super pleased with the progress!
Hope you are all well. Will check in later - have a good day xxEmma

Afternoon all,
Babyshowers... my daughter hosted her own. I'm sure its supposed to be thrown by people for the Mother to be but my daughter invited family, friends, neighbours, work mates and she does like to organise everything herself. She's like her Dad in a lot of ways... perfectionist to the extreme.
Remember the drama i had with my daughter (same daughter) about not having the Grandchildren at our house? Well hubby has now changed his mind. Ive told him he's going to have to pull his finger out and do something then as i am too old and too decrepit to run after a newborn and a 4 year old and i dont want to hear him moan that he's hardly slept all night.... So, ive got just under a month to get used to the idea.
Talking about hubby, he's back at work today "fixing other peoples c0ck ups" as he puts it. Still, he's nearing the end of the job now so its to be expected. He's not sure what he will be doing when it finishes, he's been offered jobs but its working away and he's got a big job lined up around February (18 months working away) so he is trying to stay at home as long as possible.
Youngest is off to the doctors, he cant drive because of his hand so he's going to have to walk. He needs to sort his sick note out.
Back on some sort of healthy eating plan. Last week we ate anything for convenience and my stomach hasnt liked it.Elf06 I have a little bit of exciting news......my goodies that I make and sell are going into a wee shop in town. Dumpling i hope all goes/has gone well with Becky today.
