How exactly did you pay it in?
Was it using your debit card? Did you get a receipt?
Or did you put it in an envelope with your account details on?
If you have a receipt showing £500 you will get the money soon.
  • I paid it in using my bank card you check the amount is correct and press enter. I have the receipt and it says authorised and showing the £500.

i phoned bank back up and they say it is still not showing in their system and have to speak to the post office in the morning and then get back to them

I have used it numerous times before to put money in although ususally less than £50 and it usually goes into the account straight away

It was just a shock when i saw the balance this morning.

As is so often the way, the OP Vittel was incredibly active on this thread asking for and receiving advice.

Sadly he never came back to update the thread, predictably rude.

If I were you I'd certainly be going to the PO and complaining in person - take a copy of/scan the receipt before you go. And I'm sure you'll be back in a few days to let us know how it's gone?

You should not have to go back to the Post office to sort this out - the banks have processes in place to do this for you - you just need to talk to the right person at the bank that knows how to proceed with your claim. Keep that receipt in a safe place.
After all it is the banks who are forcing to use post offices by closing branches!
