Any good on-line venues for vintage items.

Listing at 99p can be a good way of finding the value of something that you think is probably worth more than that, but wouldn't be upset if it went for 99p. I've sold a few damaged ornaments recently - not for huge amounts but much more than expected. All started at 99p and if unsold would have been binned.0

Unless you only sell locally for cash there are risks of charge backs and buyers wishing to return items. Its not just an ebay thing.
But as Soolin will tell you, collection only items may drive you mad when yet another buyer fails to turn up or wants to come at midnight or 5am. Or wants to haggle the price down even though they agreed one.
But theres a mark/scratch the colours looks different....
Brasses around here are pretty worthless. £3 on a very very very
good day.
I melt them and make items worth far more. I have around 100kg of them. Cost me less than £80.
You can often tell the difference by the weight. Modern stuff is usually lighter. It all melts

Frankly for 99p where I would be making pennies, I would rather charity shop the goods. One INR claim or SNAD claim with postage having been paid puts the seller at a loss.forgotmyname wrote: »Unless you only sell locally for cash there are risks of charge backs and buyers wishing to return items. If you are talking single brasses then you would be lucky with £3 anywhere at the places I go, 50p-£1 each at absolute most. A full martingale might possibly just give you £3 if it is a good one in leather.
about 18 months ago I was offered a car load of single brasses, literally, the chap opened his hatchback car and there were more brasses than I had seen in one place for ages- his suspension was near collapse- he went as low as £25 trying to persuade me to buy them - but mindful of my own car and the long drive home I declined.
I have a lot of metalware here, I really must look into having it melted down.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Choille
I sold all my vintage stock/business 2 years ago .you could see the signs back then that the market was just about to collapse.
I have put the odd vintage bit of China ware on to eBay and it's taken months to shift and a huge drop in price.
What bits I do have around the place is going to be boxed up and forgotten about .until it's back in favour.Work to live= not live to work0 -
