Ebay does seem rather slow - any other worth while on-line venues worth trying?

It depends. Search eBay for your 'vintage items' in completed/sold items' to see what they have sold for *rather than what seller ask for.0

People are letting things go for very little - I was wanting to sell but things are not shifting. I think that some people are putting items up for 99p & that's what the items is achieving = good time to buy but not to sell on there possibly?0

Depending on what it is you are selling it might just be the change in markets. Two or three years ago I was doing a great trade in vintage tea sets, sugar and cream jugs, cake plates, kitchenalia etc, now barely anyone is buying and everyone is dumping their stuff back on the market.
Vintage jewellery still does fairly well as do certain collectible nick nacks but I no longer hold a lot of stock as I suspect that market will die shortly as well.
The trick is to always be one step ahead of the latest craze , unfortunately I think vintage is a bit over.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I think you are right.0

Have you tried Etsy?Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0

You're right that it's a good time to buy vintage items. I collect ceramics and glass and while the value of some things has held, there are some real bargains to be had. I go to quite a few auctions and see, for example, large dinner services of real quality go for £20 - £30. But then some others go for hundreds, so it is a mixed picture.
I also think the cost of postage is a problem as it can really push the overall cost up.0 -
I haven't yet but should I suppose. I started a page but held off.
I have had very little success with etsy, I've sold more on Facebook groups, and even then very little. I have recently had some sales of vintage items of SHpock if you can put up with the time wasters.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If the items are not selling or only selling for 99p then you have found the items true value.
The listings for £££ are just dreamers. Listing them on other sites may get someone that doesnt use ebay.
Although i do wonder if the people using the other sites are those that have been banned from ebay?
Bought some brasses recently. Guy had been trying to sell them for ages. He really thought they were valuable and worth £20 each.
Charity shops around here are full of them for £2.
Eventually he gave up and sold them to me. I didn't have the heart to tell him i was going to melt them.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I don't list items at 99p - that would be daft.
I am merely de-cluttering and go on what items have previously sold for but I think there is often an issue with visibility.
Sales are poor on ebay & that is why people are looking elsewhere as it is becoming a pain with INR cases & non payers at the moment.
Charity shops often have relatively recently made horse brasses, usually bad castings - not originals & most people can't tell the difference - but genuine horse brasses are worth money at the right venue.0
