Can't decide between Sky or BT TV

Just recently left Sky, they made me an offer of 60% off for 12 months to come back. To be honest, the only thing I'm interested in is sports and even with 60% off Sky is expensive and you have to add various things to get HD and HD is excluded from the 60% off.
Then there is BT TV, Not as much choice granted but then I never watched the vast majority of programming on Sky, the odd documentary, some music channels etc but it was mostly sport mainly football. I have the free BT Sport but was thinking of adding the full BT Sport pack anyway as I like some US sports as well, they also have 4K.
What would you do in my situation?

What I actually did in your situation is dump Sky, Got Plusnet TV and I watch Sky Sports at the pub. Ok I have to buy a pint of beer but hey I like beer.
BT Sport is cheaper on Plusnet TV - all the channels for a fiver a month. But really not much of a comparison between BT Sport and Sky Sport: Sky is way superior.0 -
Like another poster said Sky Sport is better than BT Sport. Having said that BT has a very good deal with their Entertainment Max at only 12.99 per month - you need to pay 9.99 delivery and you may need the £20 installation kit. You get all the bt sports channels in HD plus the 4k. Admittedly they don't show as many matches as Sky, you get one PL game per week, usually an SPL game week plus the european games.0

Hi, are you thinking of BT TV on fibre broadband on a YouView box, or through your satellite dish?0 -
I am in the same boat. The BT deal is much better as it includes BT sport for free so the package i want works out about £50pm but with sky it would be about that without BT sports. Has anyone got any recent experience of haggling with Sky? Or does anyone have any experience of BT as i've only heard negative things about getting it set up. Thanks0

You can get the BT sports channels through PlusNet TV, through a Youview box - HD costs extra. I just have the free 'BT sport lite' which comes with the PlusNet TV offer - BT sport 1 only, but I do have the HD version - the only English football on there appears to be the weekly premier league match on Saturday evening, German football is also on there. Champs. Lge is on the other channels.
Not sure how it compares cost wise but I've been with PlusNet a few years and they are pretty good, and not too difficult to haggle with. I got PlusNet TV free for 12 months (saving £5 a month) when I signed up for 18 months. Far as I can remember it is about £5 a month for the extra BT sport channels and a couple of quid a month for HD - so about £12-£15 a month. Includes BT1, 2, 3, ESPN0 -
thanks Bigphil had a look and thats a great price, whats the broadband like?0
