Feeling very down at the moment, trying to put my finger on what the problem is.
It's the time of year when some people find Seasonal Affective Disorder kicks in, Arkers, which is about light levels as the days grow shorter. Is there any chance it's that?
22/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Morning All
I'm still alcohol free but seems to be getting harder rather than easier. The tiredness comes in waves and feel sluggish but am still holding firm..
21/31 for me Shaggy0 -
Sorry to hear you're feeling down arkers. But HB might have a point. I don't know what it's like where you are today but here it's bright and sunny. Try getting out in the fresh air and daylight, have some exercise. It might help.:) If not, there's always retail therapy with the money you've saved from booze.:Dtakingonedayatatime wrote: »Morning All

:T that's great oneday. Well done. I've never tried giving up but I'd imagine the fact that it's not got an end IYSWIM might be difficult to get used to at first. What I can identify with is that while it does get easier over time (it really does I promise;)), there are still bad patches. It's just that you will get better at managing them. Try distraction or listing positives or just feeling smug and pleased with your achievement. It'll pass.:)0 -
Good Afternoon all
19/24 for today please Shaggy.
Arkers Caravan of love by Housemartins is my mood uplifter. But I agree this time of year can feel a bit bleak.
(Off topic) I think especially for singles- not sure if you are.
I think it stems from Christmas - people have lots of unwanted pity for singles at Christmas and that has definately kicked in already.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

Sorry it's not going easily, One Day. When I was at the stage you are I was repeatedly reminded by people on this thread that the amount of sugar I used to imbibe in booze was massive, and simply cutting out the booze and not replacing the sugar will mean you are going to feel very tired for some time. It's why I urged you not to try and lose weight at the same time as stopping drinking. Use whatever food you like - dried fruit, cake, biscuits, ice cream, chocolate, whatever, but please get some sugar inside you.
What you're doing is a bit like trying to go on a diet and give up smoking at the same time - it simply doesn't work. Trying to do more than one thing at once is really tough without serious amounts of support, and most of us can't afford The Priory.
You can lose weight later, when the tiredness isn't part of your life, and you're free of the habit of booze.Poor_Single_lady wrote: »I think it stems from Christmas - people have lots of unwanted pity for singles at Christmas and that has definately kicked in already.
I didn't meet OH until I was 37. Being happily single for a long time the only two things I found tricky were weddings and Christmas. They really are Coupledom Central. I'm not aware that anyone pitied me - they'd have got very, very short shrift if I'd been on the receiving end of any.
23/31 please, Shaggy. Nice numbers, by the way. I love your witch on a broom!Better is good enough.0
