Thanks all for your well wishes. Appreciate it.
Well I had 3 days on the trot. But back on it tonight.
17/18.
Nearly there. Still doing better than all of this year. Was hoping to make up 5 extra days but now looks like only 2. Finding it hard sometimes to stick to 2 days a week, makes me feel like I want to rebel on my units. Hmmmm... luckily new bloke isn't a big drinker so I'm not being led astray by him.Live for the moment and plan for the future0 -
That's a coincidence, Maman!! We are moving to between Penarth and Cardiff Bay. It is very exciting :j- slightly closer to London to see my 2 DDs who are now there, and very close to Bristol, where DD3 is still at uni, so I can just hop across and see her :j Where are you from?
Swansea, but I have a niece and nephew in Cardiff. It's a nice place but Swansea has the better seaside.0 -
Declaring for tonight 14/21 for me please Shaggy. I need to set a target for October. Please go for 14 initially.0

Maybe planning what to do with leisure time at home is a spin off of being AF!:D
As to TV and radio, OH and I have become very picky about how much time we'll give anything that doesn't engage us. I cycle through the radio stations I like (Radio 4, Radio 4 Extra and the World Service) and he cycles through music stations. The trouble with listening to the radio on iplayer is that my speakers aren't that brilliant, so it's a static thing and I can't get on with anything else while I'm catching up with The Archers - yes, I am addicted.
As for TV, he's in the entertainment business and he knows what's new and has to stay in touch with it, but he doesn't inflict all of it on me, thank goodness. We always have a boxed set on standby so that if there's nothing we want to watch on, we don't have to accept what's on offer. iPlayer on my laptop is a godsend - I'm not at all sure OH wants to watch Bake Off, so I can when I want to and he doesn't have to sit through a cupcake debacle. He does seem to like An Extra Slice though.
The best solution I've found to finding talk radio irritating is the ipod I managed to pick up in a secondhand shop, which I've loaded up with podcasts all of which are *free*! Very MSE. I'm currently working my way through 129 utterly amazing Ted Talks.
In spite of that, the only time the TV is on in this house is either when OH is watching sport, or when we're both here in the evening after dinner. We don't structure our evenings around TV, but I'm blowed if I can work out how we made the transition from when we did to where we are now.
It's not off topic - it's about how we structure our new lives once we've realised that being in control of the booze has given us oceans more time.
Healing vibes for your head, Arkers!
It sounds very exciting, Pricey, but as moving is so stressful it's almost a good thing you can't swig to your hearts content while that's going on. I really hope it all goes smoothly for you.
I know you're right about the weight thing, CathyBird, but it's something I didn't know until you mentioned it! A kilo is a lot for me because it sits, prominently, on my waist and nothing I can do makes it look attractive. When my stomach sticks out more than my boobs I know I have to do something about it. I only weigh myself once a week but you're right, on those days I can find it surprisingly easy to turn down the extra biscuits.
26/30 please, Shaggy and 31 for October. October - how did that happen? It's only yesterday I was dealing with spring! Love the little black cat - I had one sitting on my lap as I saw I'd racked it up.Better is good enough.0 -
10/10 for today please Shaggy0

Hi All,
Still plodding although not going to hit my target this month, I will be near.
Please can you count me in for 10 AFD's again for October, anything more is a bonus0 -
Thanks for the tips HB. It's comforting to hear you identify with the same sort of issues as me. When studying literature for a degree course I managed by sitting at a table reading the books but with a pencil and pad to hand for notes. So it was a 'work' activity. More recently (as it's now a leisure activity) as prep for my visit to Stratford, I went to bed for an hour or so each afternoon to read Anthony and Cleopatra!:D I don't have boxed sets as such just compile my own by recording various series. I'm considering Netflix. Do you have that? I only watch TV a few evenings a week from 8 pm at the earliest. I don't have a sports channel. I prefer to listen to 5 Live or go to the pub
on the rare occasions my team has a televised away game.
I'm out this evening and will have a single glass of wine with a pub meal. What I won't do is come home and hit a bottle later.:)0 -
We can reach 10 in October purplemumof2:). When I started I would plan the AF days in my diary. It not only 'ring fenced' the AF days but also highlighted the planned drinking days to look forward to.
:T sukey on your target and days to spare! Not bad considering you had a late start this month.0 -
