Shaggy - I have had the exact same experience when withdrawing from caffeine, day 1 usually ok and not too bad day 2 then day 3 feel sick, headachey, not in my own body. I gave up caffeine years ago then drank it for a week on a business trip in Germany last year where I couldn't get decaff tea and was back to the beginning withdrawing again. Awful but worth it.
6/5 AF days thanks.0 -
6/20 please.
Had lunch and dinner out today but was driving so although I was encouraged, a lot, to have a glass of fizz I declined. Driving is definitely helping. It's very interesting how many people don't like the fact that I'm happy to not have a drink. People aren't liking it at all!0 -
Well managed 1/15 AFDs for last night and feeling pleased as just too easy to think s*d it given my start to the month. Hoping and intending another AFD today but rather more temptation as I will be wandering around a Christmas market tonight -and I love a gluhwein.
Interesting discussion about caffeine and effects of withdrawal, I tried this a while ago and had truly terrible headaches but went back to drinking caffeine when I did not notice any real effects. Hope you are feeling better now Shaggy.
I think a lot of people notice negative effects from others when they stop drinking Mudbath - many of us find it easier not to say anything directly but to have a good excuse like drinking, antibiotics etc. Really very anti social to encourage a driver to have a drink, even just one!0 -
4/10please.
I know I haven't gone for a high target this month but it's helping. I really wanted a glass of wine from the half finished bottle in the fridge last night. But I didn't because I am convinced I can hit this target. If I'd set it higher I would have just given in telling myself I won't make it anyway.
BACKFROMTHEEDGE Good luck with the 3 month stint.
I will be having a glass tonight and I know it will be stress related. My son is waiting for some medical test results tomorrow morning and we don't know what to expect. It's very worrying and I know I'll have to calm my nerves. I know it's wrong but it will relax me while I distract myself. DH is out tonight so I won't have him to take my mind off things.
Happy Thursday to everyone.0 -
Slowdown - fingers crossed for the results for your son.
Maggiem - I was a bit shocked at how many times I was told 'you'll be fine having one drink'. If I'm driving I don't have so much as a sip so I didn't feel pressured at all but it's naughty as you say!
I will be having a glass of wine tonight as I'm going out with my oldest friend who I've not seen for about 6 months. I'm seeing it as a challenge though as normally we'd sink quite a few drinks between us and this time I want to stick to one drink. I don't want to not drink at all but I want to drink less and less often so I'm hoping to meet the challenge head on.
Hope everyone enjoys their day x0 -
