Could my dad be investigated for benefit fraud

Hi I have posted a thread about my dad facing eviction due to incorrect claims of sub letting this is the thread
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/72907379#Comment_72907379
I am now worried that as well as possible eviction he may be investigated for benefit fraud, he claims PC and HB and council tax relief, I am assuming his HA would contact other agencies with their 'proof' because if the allegations were correct he would be getting a rental income which would negate his income based benefits.
As you can see from my other thread we can prove he didn't sublet and that's it some sort of mistake, but Dad is distressed and vulnerable and the last thing he could cope with is the loss of his benefits and be accused of another crime he hasn't committed
Hoping someone can help
Thank you

It seems like to me that with all those people visiting your dads home regular that you can get plenty of evidence to support your Dad that he does actually still live there. If it was me i would have started to collect all the evidence i can get my hands on. He wouldn't be investaged for fraud if he hasn't commited it and it sounds like to me that he hasn't done anything wrong. Start collecting as much of that evidence as you can....tomorrow. Seems like someone has got it in for your dad and reported him for something he obviously hasn't done. Good luck and hope you get everything sorted!0

I fail to see what evidence they think they have, based on what you say.,0

If you hear from HB folks at all about this in the next few days, just send them a copy of the letter, as advised by folks on your other post. I think it's unlikely but you never know.
I agree with Geoff1963 about warning the HA from the off about that.0 -
Just a thought:The Cinnamon Trust who have been walking his dog every day for over a year, picking the dog up and dropping him off
Neighbours see someone leave house to walk a dog everyday they think that person lives there.0 -

That's possible I suppose0 -
They will have 'evidence'. I expect that evidence relates to another property, maybe the same number but 'drive' rather than 'road', or '14' rather than '114', and a very similar name.
Hope it gets resolved very quickly.0
