I just checked on an online map, there's none in Cambridge which is the nearest town to me. The closest camera is in a village I've never been to.Hong_Kong_Phooey. wrote: »You must be in the middle of know where or blind.0 -

The white line was crossed when the lights were at green, the junction you are turning into is clear, but because of traffic blocking your path you cannot proceed.
Then the lights turn red ....0 -

What's your point?
If you're over the stop line you haven't contravened the red light.0 -

That's only true if all of your car has crossed the stop line. If you are straddling it, then move forward on a red and the offence is complete. The offence is any part of the car crossing the line at red (amber also, strictly but there's a statutory defence to that...)0 -

There's no defence for amber if you move from stationary.0 -

I'm referring to the general application of the law in relation to passing Amber. If the OP had moved on amber they would not have got the ticket. The OP got the ticket because part of the car crossed the line on red.0
