That's the board you need. Don't try to register with a Hotmail address. When you post, include scans of all sides of everything received (redacted of personal info of course).0 -
My partner was driving and got to a green light which she went through but stopped on the line as it was a left turn and a large HGV was turning which breaked sharply because there was a bus coming. She was pretty much past the traffic light and couldn't even see that it had changed to red therefore continued through. Can she dispute it??0

She was either past it or wasn't, which is it?
I don't think the OP is querying whether she was past it or not. The OP is suggesting that the fact that the lorry blocked the view of the lights that she couldn't see the lights change and is relying on that as a defence.
I don't think it has any legs as a defence.
OP, what were other people doing? If your partner looked in her mirror and saw other cars stopped behind the stop line and apparently not primed to move, that would suggest that they saw a red light at that moment.
I don't think there is a defence. The question will be asked, why the OP's partner didn't wait until her view was unblocked before moving through the junction.0 -
I always thought the rule was that if your front wheels were over the line when it changed to red, you were allowed to keep going. However, reading the ( current ) wording again :

. . . seems to say that once it is red, you aren't allowed to move any more of your car over the line - and hence you are only allowed to keep going, if all over your car was already over the line.
I normally know when I've jumped a red light, because only 3 cars follow me through.0 -

When was it any different?0 -
GREEN means
you may go on
if the way is
clear. Take
special care if
you intend to
turn left or right
and give way
to pedestrians
who are
crossing
The important bit is 'if the way is clear'. She could not see that her way was clear but followed the HGV.0 -
She is best to take the points / drivers awareness course and suck it up.
Taking it court would be unwise as the only real defence is to prove she didn't cross the white line after the lights when to red.All your base are belong to us.0 -
"Can I appeal my red light ticket?"
Why would you word it like that if it was your partner driving?0 -

Perhaps the OP is considering gallantly taking the penalty themselves by doing a 'Vicky Pryce'?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
