Car not selling
Options
Hi everyone,
Firstly I hope this is an appropriate place to post this - if not, apologies.
I have a car that I've been trying to sell for nearly 2 months now, but no-ones viewing it. I've tried reducing the price, adding a more detailed description, less detailed description, more photos, less photos, different photos etc. It's advertised on Autotrader, Gumtree and Facebook.
So far I've had a couple of calls about it and a few "swap" offers, but no serious viewers.
Could anyone take a look at the advert and let me know if they think there's anything I should change to get it sold? I wondered if it might still be priced too highly, or if there's something putting buyers off in the description.

Any advice whether obvious or less obvious is appreciated, I'm a bit inexperienced with selling cars as I've only sold 2 cars before.

It's at least a grand over priced.0

And the pictures are crap, as is the description. The MOT history suggests it's had a hard life.
And it's dented.0 -
Thanks both, will adjust price this weekend in that case.
How should I do the photos and description differently? If you have some constructive ideas I'd appreciate the advice.0 -

I'd remove the comment about the dent. If you cant see it in the pictures then i'd be inclined to let people find it for themselves. (if they were travelling a big distance i'd flag it with them)
Its not far away price wise, but cars with only a little more miles can be had for £1,000 less.
Conversely, less than £3,000 will buy you an 05 or 06 car.
Its the 180BHP variant, not the 225BHP
The photos arent great.
Get a leather restorer cream off ebay to help darken down the wear on the drivers seat...

This.
There's a much nicer looking one for £2,995 with 70k on it and '05 plate.
Another '05 one with 72k on it for only £2,350.
You need to drop yours to more like £1.5 - 2kMake £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080 -

Take all the guff out of the description and include only details of the car. Mileage, service history, does it have two keys, what are the tyres like, do they all match, are the alloys scuffed, does everything work, how long have you owned it, description of any damage, what features are there (hint: no one cares about cupholders, this isn't America).0 -
Thanks for your time everyone, it's exactly the kind of advice I needed. Will get it all updated over the weekend and order the leather restorer cream :-)0

I would try to take photos that don't show the for sale sign on your house. Might indicate that you're desperate to sell, which might not be what your aiming to portray.0

On Gumtree, don't forget to add 'Bargin' and 'Nuttin wrong wit it'; that'l bring the boy-racer chavs in.0

the words "neglected heap" spring to mind.
Advisory on an MOT, coil springs corroded and the following year it failed on broken coil springs.
Failed on silly stuff like the handbrake needing to be pulled all the way up and no travel left. Tyres worn below the legal limit etc.
Why would you take a car for an MOT with obvious fail points?
Serviced at 103k miles? Is that the only service its ever had?
