Photogenic Debt-free and Proud!
Good morning all and Happy Friday.

I bought an electric bin and got it delivered yesterday. Only to be disappointed when taking out the boxes to see some dents and colour fade, so I'll need to send it back. Frustrated as I was looking forward to being able to use it.

Could've slept for another few hours this morning but forced myself up and I've been to the gym.

No plans this evening although an early night is on the cards I recon.

HollyHarvey - Wait...you baked cakes and put them in the freezer? Is that a thing? This could be a game changer
Judi - Hope all goes well for youngest today.
Jackie - Huge congratulations!!!

Morning :hello:

Hollyharvey I've lived here since 1997, two years ago I found out there's a pond just down the road. I've walked down the side road to cut through the industrial estate to get to the main road loads of times, the side road goes round the corner but I've never been down there because it's a dead end. I didn't know if I'd walked just another 20 yards, I'd find a peaceful little haven :D

Judi I hope the op went well xx

Congratulations JackieO x

Dad has a little pump attatched to him fortnightly on wednesdays, then the nurse comes to his house to take it off two days later. I always want to ring him on the friday to see how it went but I never know what time the nurse is going to be there and I don't want to disturb them. So I leave it til saturday, when we'll have the exact same conversation as last time - he'll tell me whether or not he has a headache (he and the nurse joke about him having chemo-head, lol), that he met his brother for a beer last night, and that he's just come in for a break from the gardening and is having a cuppa :D

Mr tru isn't too bad so far, lol. There's a food festival on at the docks, I'm not interested but he said he'll probably go for an hour. Roll on 11am :D

Not sure what I'll be doing today, as long as it's peaceful I don't care :D

Speky what's an electric bin?

World war three here. Youngest has to stay overnight as there's no one to pick him up. He won't ask his sister as he doesn't want to bother her.

Hubby won't cut short his holiday by 1 day so I've told him he can stick his trip to the war museum up his backside.

Speky, yes you can freeze cakes and scones etc. Scones are especially good if they are defrosted in the microwave for a minute or so and then put in a hot oven for a few minutes. Apart from scones which go stale very quickly not many of the cakes made here survive long enough to freeze.

Today will be a baking/cooking day because I am taking stuff to DD's as some family members willl be coming to stay for a couple of days and we will all be going to the zoo on Sunday. I'll be making a pork, broccoli and brie lasagne, a salmon lasagne and macaroni cheese for the children. Also a baked lemon cheesecake and some salted caramel brownies, maybe some millionaires shortbrad as well, I shall see.

Puppy training continues - DD complained she was trying to bite her face so I told her she had to say "no" like she meant it - too many people say it without changing their tone of voice and then wonder why it has no effect. DD sent me a pic later of puppy sitting looking sheepish after she tried it, so hopefully that will work. I feel like I'm training DD as she is training the puppy.

I'd better get on as I've lots to do.

Morning all :)
Much better night sleep for me last night so I'm raring to go today. Baked croissants for breakfast and have a load of washing in the machine - waiting for it to finish then I'll nip up to Mum's to TD it. After our lovely few days weather we are back to rain! No real surprises there but it has put paid to my clearing out my wardrobe. I have a load for CS, load to fleabay and a couple of things to offer to a friend but they all need a freshen up first. They were washed yesterday but haven't yet dried on the airer. DS had been hoarding clothes and has produced them today which is ok as its the end of my working week for my main job so my uniform needs a wash now anyway. Just a white load to do after that and I'll be all up to date with the washing.

Going to make a SC chicken curry for dinner tonight so will nip to SM for ground coriander (I CANNOT believe I've none on my spice rack - must have forgotten to replace when I used the last of the old one) but I don't mind as we are in desperate need of fresh fruit now too.

In other plans - today I shall do the first gluey paint of the bathroom ceiling as I managed to get it sanded yesterday before work. Once that is done I'll be able to see where it needs more filling and sanding done....oh and I need to have another huge clean as I didn't shut the doors whilst sanding yesterday and the place looks like a snow storm has hit!

Before I head over to the greenfinger board - anyone on here got any advice on tomato plants?? DS grew one in school and when the schools broke up they brought them home. Neither of us eat toms so I've never grown one before. It started off very small and spindly looking but now is much bigger and a bit sturdier.....the only problem is that the bottom leaves are starting to look all sad and spotty. Any ideas? It was indoors for the first month or 2 but I moved it outside just over a week ago. Might bring it back in and hope for the best.

JACKIE What wonderful news - congratulations
JUDI what a horrible situation for you - you seem to be stuck between a rock and hard place. Hope youngest is ok!
anyone else I've missed - happy birthday, ((hugs)), etc xx

NSD - target 18 days, so far 5!!
• Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Sunny but quite breezy, I put a load of laundry in last night, so its dancing on the line, should be dry by lunchtime, providing we do not get any rain.

I have to tackle the hall carpet, OH has a habit of carrying the mugs from our bedtime drink swinging on his fingers rather than on the tray, I could not understand where the marks were coming from till I realised it was the dregs of the tea in the mugs. So a large portion of the carpet to spray, I hope the marks come out. Suddenly after 2+ years the hall and sitting room carpets are looking grubby. OH always was messy, but he seems to be getting worse.

No plans apart from the Friday clean, will fling the mop at the kitchen floor. We are into town on Sunday, will have a look in Wilkos for a new mop.

Fish, chips and peas tonight.

Yes, I always put cakes in the freezer. I like to bake but live alone so I would never eat a whole one before it became stale, so I make them and freeze them in portions. Most cakes freeze ok.
