After being chased regularly by the EA when they were after something, I now can't get hold of them to renegotiate the price. Sounds about right...

I won't post who it is as yet but today I had to escalate things with the solicitors after far too long of no progress and radio silence.
Funnily enough, got a response a few hours later.
I actually believe them when they say they've been chasing things and awaiting responses... but that doesn't excuse ignoring all communication for weeks on end.

Fingers crossed that doesn't happen, hope you get some good news soon 🤞
We seem to be getting somewhere now, one enquiry outstanding on our purchase, now waiting for vendors mortgage offer, but this should be all we are waiting for now fingers crossed!

Good news CBush! We've made a bit of headway now but not finally settled on a price. I don't know why the vendors are pushing this really, they paid well under the asking on a few years ago and haven't added value to the property, the market rates in the area haven't gone up to match what they want... I'm still offering more than what they paid. I think tomorrow will be crunch time.
  • Good luck Atrixa 🤞hopefully you will be able to come to an agreement tomorrow 😊

Offer accepted on empty property - no chain in May.
FTB who were living with family.
My case is passed to someone else after my conveyancer is furloughed. New person does sod all with the file.
In July I was told there was an issue with the mortgage application but finally sorted.
Soon after they paid for the searches.
First searches came back in August and first enquires raised. Both solicitors play a game of ‘I sent the enquires /I never received the enquires” for two weeks.
    Enquires answered by my end.
Final searches come back from local authority on 14/9. Buyers Sol do nothing for over a week till EA gets them to raise final enquires.
My sols reply within the day and asks when we can complete. Heard nothing. Now EA chasing.

Now just waiting to hear if we can now exchange contracts.
I have this niggling feeling the buyers will pull out because they’ve done nothing to hurry this along. I’m thinking if they don’t come back with an agreed completion date in the next few days I’m going to put it back on the market before winter sets in.
  • So it looks like we are entering into the final-ish stages but not sure how it all works to be honest.  We are FTB, just had a call from the estate agents saying that the top of the chain is aiming for exchange on the 9th October.  What exactly will this entail?  I assume we agree a completion date before that? And pay the deposit and sign contracts before?  Hadn't thought about the details until this point and now I am panicking a little bit!

We’ve been asked by buyer to exchange by 7th but seller isn’t replying! Last week they said they are good to go whenever. Why 4 days of radio silence then!
