You have very odd vendors! What is thier situation? Do they have an onward purchase?
they were supposedly chain free - as we are - this appears to not be so. They are buying in Lincolnshire. They were willing to go into rented if needs be, that's why they said they were chain free. But as their purchase is imminent I expect they no longer want a 6 months tenancy and furniture into storage. The pressure they keep putting on us to exchange is a) horrid and b) misguided at the very least. The first time we got really stressed, the second was annoying, yesterday we laughed and said 'whatever'. It's not us holding up the exchange date; they didn't even complete all the forms until the end of June! How they ever excepted to exchange at the end of June when they hadn't completed paperwork I don't know. This isn't their first time buying and selling but they are acting really weird!

  • Just a small update, had our searches back. There is a chance of flooding noted on one - possibility of a 1 in 1000 years occurrence due to groundwater flooding so we're not particularly worried but apparently the Solicitor has to inform the lender. Also waiting on sellers Solicitor to come back to us with details about a small extension at the back of the house. Hoping it's not an issue and we can move to exchange. Planned completion for early August so fingers crossed.

15/03 Initial chat with Natwest, AIP given with soft search.
30/03 Issues on credit reports shown to Natwest, new AIP given.
15/04 Contacted broker as did not believe Natwest would accept our full application, broker agrees and looks for lenders who will consider us.
16/04 Begin house hunting in earnest.
21/05 Initial offer made, rejected 24/05
24/05 Second and final offer made.
    25/05 Offer accepted.
25/05 Back to broker to discuss options. Solicitors contacted, asked to wait until we have offer before conducting searches due to our circumstances.
31/05 AIP referred with Principality, as expected with previous credit issues declared (not a straight decline, woop!)
31/05 Progressed to full application with Principality.
05/06 Broker contacted us to say Principality are happy to progress on to the valuation.
08/06 Valuation and Homebuyers takes place.
14/06 Mortgage offer received in the post and Homebuyers report received. Solicitors contacted to crack on!
    16/07 Searches returned from Solicitor.

Sounds like they are a bit clueless or very unorganised or both!

I think stressed - these are the ones whose mother is very ill in another county and the wife is backwards and forwards to sort her out etc. (other sad family circumstances also abound) - basically not the best time to be selling a house for them but they have their eye on this other property they fell in love with last year. They are just lucky we are in service accommodation so none fo these changes of dates are important other than on a stress level thing - we have this house (if we want it) til the end of December. We don't need to move in until we want to.

So stressed and not thinking straight and therefore unrealistically.

We have our eye on others in case it all falls apart. (though I'm not sure I want 12 acres with a possibility of another 28!!!!!!)

Hi everyone, been a long time since I've posted on the forums! Anyway...
Current house buying timeline is ..
28/6 - offer made and accepted on house, mortgage application submitted and solicitors instructed
4/7- extra information requested and survey completed
    9/7- more information requested
    12/7- mortgage offer issued
    18/7- renegotiated price following survey

AFAIK our solicitor still hasn't received draft contracts or anything from vendor so I've chased this with EA ... Hoping to complete before we go on holiday on 30/8 so everyone needs to get a jump on now!
    Debt free finally :j
    First house purchase ... 2018 :j
