We’re so close to exchange with our buyer’s solicitor delaying things!Accepted an offer on the sale of our house on 10th Feb. Our offer accepted for the purchase of a house on 13th Feb.We have now completed everything on our purchase and ready for exchange. However, we’re waiting for a response from our buyer’s solicitors who appear to be difficult to deal with. Our EA is chasing every day and the buyer is contacting their solicitor every day for an update and the solicitors don’t give much of an update other than “it’s with the case handler”. Our EA is just as frustrated as us and says that these solicitors will not be on their panel going forward. This is so stressful!0 -
Update-Certificate of title has been received, completion date is set for Wednesday!
Hoping this means all searches have been done bankruptcy, OS1 and OS2, so fingers crossed!1 -
Getting closer to an exchange date, fearful of jinxing it by posting here! Quite a gap between exchange and completion - our seller's purchase sees then move into rental to break the chain and they're unwilling to commit without guarantees it'll all go through. Guess at least it'll give me a chance to find a removal company!0

Completion date today… still waiting to hear. What are the chances this will complete today?0

Other party’s solicitor is off sick. Our Sols have just managed to get hold of someone in the office who can take over the completion. They are currently chasing their accounts department to send the funds over. Down to the wire today maybe?0

We’ve completed! It went right down to the final hour, but finally, we can breathe! Best of luck to everyone still going through this stressful process! You will get there!6

Thought I’d join this thread for some venting haha.17th February - Offer accepted on our sale.18th February - Solicitor instructed
24th February - Documents completed and sent back to solicitor.14th March to 6th April - Sporadically received enquiries from buyers solicitors and replied same day.6th April - Buyers solicitor requested something additional from the council.12th May - Up to date redemption figures received by our solicitor and everything ready to go.17th May - Discovered our buyers buyers (FTBs) are having to query something with their lender which has had to go back to the valuer.
This is where we are currently. We’ve been waiting 3 weeks now and have had no movement whatsoever. Emailed our solicitor today and received an autoreply to say our solicitor is now on leave til 19th June! Really hoping one of the other solicitors in the firm can try and push things along as it’s already been 15 weeks since offer accepted, don’t want to be waiting til the end of the month for completion.0 -

Knew there'd be a problem! Three exchange attempts have come and gone with the top of the chain staying worryingly silent. I wasn't overly worried, but the estate agent is concerned that they've changed their mind about moving into rented.
I've pointed out that will have an inevitable consequence if so...0
