climbthatwallseegar said:I am trying not to feel bitter this morning. A friend who put her property up for sale at the same time as me just sent me a video tour of their new house as they moved in yesterday. They sold at lightening speed and she joked that since the sale went so well they were guaranteed to experience problems with their purchase. Well they found a chain free house, vendor moved in with their son and daughter in law and the sale completed in about 10 weeks.
I sent back a cheery message (and I am happy for them!) but has compounded my sense of gloomIt’s been almost 2 months since our offer was accepted and our vendor has been searching for an onward purchase. I told the EA last week that we’d have to restart viewings soon as we are just stuck in limbo. EA then responded 2 days later to say the vendor has suddenly found somewhere. However since then he has been unable to get any further information about this alleged onward property as the vendor has not released info about the onward property’s EA. My solicitor also said the vendor’s solicitor, who told her he been instructed to not send the contract until the vendor had found somewhere, has not responded to her emails asking for an update. So I’m calling BS and think the vendor is still looking. I really hope I’m wrong. Living surrounded by boxes and half our life in storage is really not great.Well surprise surprise, the onward purchase has not materialized. After the EA and our Solicitor continued to chase for further information, the vendor claimed the purchase had fallen through but (according to the EA) has failed to provide any additional details. I don't know what the vendor would have to gain by wasting everyone's time but something feels off and I do not think he is committed to moving at all so even if he does find another property I don't think I'll ever really trust that the sale will go through.Going to pour myself a G&T, have a little pity party and then prepare to restart looking again in earnest, not that there's a lot out there at the moment:(0 -
