Switching from Broadband to Fibre Optic

Hello,
I am looking to switch from broadband to fibre optic, but the only provider available is BT. I am currently with Sky Broadband.
If I go ahead with BT and leave after 12 months, will other providers who previously could not offer the service be able to offer fibre optic after BT install it? My fear is that I will be left with no comparable providers to jump to with a high price after 12 months.
FYI - BT require 2 visits to install fibre optic, one to the exterior of the property to install a small box, and another inside.

I assume you're on about fibre to the premise or FTTP?
At the moment only BT, AAISP and Zen offer service on Openreach's FTTP network.
It is available at a Wholesale level to Sky, TalkTalk etc but they have decided not to offer it as this time.
You can always call and haggle with BT at the end of the initial contract.
Many people would be very envious of your access to FTTP, it's far superior in every way to copper based broadband.0
