Stupid face here decided to transfer my balance from my bank of Scotland. Stupid face here got accepted for Halifax then raises he couldn't transfer his balance. Stupid face then googled and found out Halifax and bank of Scotland are the same group hence why I couldn't transfer. Stupid face then got rejected from another three companies after trying after realising his mistake. Stupid face here is wondering if anything can be done.

Do you have any other credit cards apart from Halifax/BOS?I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge threads there. Any views are mine and not the official line of moneysavingexpert.com0 -
zx81 I didn't go through with the application. I'd need to really and hope my failed attempts dont reject me.
Candyapple no just the bank of Scotland one. Edited to say the eligibility calculator never seems to work for me. Never returns any results. Oblivious as to why.0 -
Have you tried directly with the company's own eligibility checker?
MBNA are known for giving high limits, try them.

If you are having problems with MSE's checker then I would advise you to check your credit files to see if there is anything amiss on your files.
The free versions to check your credit files are below:

Equifax: https://www.clearscore.com

If you have a trusted family member or friend with a credit card with a high enough limit and isn't issued by BOS/Halifax.
You could transfer to and from theirs...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I recently got a mortgage so don't believe anything is wrong on my files. Doesn't seem to work on here at all.
Confirmation today that I've been rejected from everyone except Halifax. I am a stupid face.0 -
I've tried MBNA who are going to get back to me in 7 to 10 days. It will be a poorer offer but if it's a year or so interest free id rather do that.
Does anyone have any past knowledge of Halifax and bank of Scotland honouring offers?
Bank of Scotland when I asked about offering me interest free or I would leave were terrible. They just told me to balance transfer so no interest in keeping me as a customer.
Not sure if Halifax/bank of Scotland would consider my initial application.0 -
