Morning everyone,
I had a super birthday yesterday, thanks again for all the well wishes. After work 'surprised' me with doughnuts, I went to my mums for a family takeaway, Chinese. The food itself was disappointing but a cake was brought out, so I was a happy bunny.
My uncle came over who I rarely see as he lives in Edinburgh so he came back to my flat afterwards to have a look. He's an estate agent so it was good to hear positive things. Must've done something right.
I've been to the gym this morning and I think I'll stop off on my way back home too.
redruby - I didn't actually have any alcohol. I was knackered by the time I got home so soon went to my bed. I'm getting old.
Jackie - Hope you're feeling better soon.0 -
Morning All
Hope you feel better JackieO. Perhaps you should phone the place to let them know.
Hugs to you and your family dumpling, hope things improve soon.
Did you have a good birthday Speky?
It's looking a little unsettled outside this morning. Yesterday we had torrential rain all morning then it cleared to a lovely afternoon.
I got some shoes in town so just need a bag now, in fact I may have one so I'll have a look later. Also took DD to look at cars, she bought one and should get it on Sunday.
Off to the gym and a swim in a while, meeting a friend later which should be a laugh.
Have a good day. Take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone,
Thinking of Dumpling and get well wishes for Jackie.
Great news re your Dad Tru
Reasonably bright here this morning so washing is on the line, need to pop out for some fresh stuff and I didn't get to the bank yesterday so still have a cheque to pay in. We decided against a coffee table in the end as worried about doggie tails sweeping acrossmaybe thinking about a small side table that we could move next to sofa when needed....
Not much else in the way of news, have a good day folks x0 -
Morning all
Tru good news about your Dad. So pleased for him. My friend has an appointment at 2 to see if her cancer has spread. She has fought this battle for so long and each time I feel sorry for myself I think of her. Her husband is a recovering alcoholic and Son has mental health issues. Saying this she is one of the strongest women I know. I hope the results of her tests are in her favour.
Not sure what we are doing today as the weather isn't the best.
Dumpling thinking of you.
Onwards and forwards

Morning all, it's a bit overcast with showers forecast for later.
We have just returned from town as we had to get DH's prescription filled, then called in Tes*o for more fresh fruit ! This diet is costing a fortune in fruit but at least it's working, as DH has already lost 3lb this week :j ( I haven't weighed yet but I don't need to lose that much, I'm just trying to help DH keep his down because the cancer medication tends to pile on the pounds) Our fault for letting things slip on holiday last week !
Having a coffee and a read on here, then will clean out DD's piggies and wash their bedding. I'm hoping it will be dry before the showers arrive, as tomorrow we are supposed to have rain most of the day.
Right must get off my deriere and see to my guests ( piggies ) :rotfl:
Tru it sounds very positive for your Dad
JackieO hope you feel better soon
TA hope all goes well today
Judi my fingers are crossed for your friend
Dumpling more hugs
HollyH glad you had a better night

Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Jackie you should speak to the public health people about that curry, there was something wrong with it. I hope you feel better soon.
Shopping done, came in just under £1 under £60, not grumbling at that at all, just fresh fruit, veg etc to get through the month.
Started off very dull, then bright sun and now it has clouded over again. Despite the weather I did get the towels dry yesterday.
Beef and veg casserole for supper tonight.0 -
AAaargh OH has bought a new car! Went and had a test drive then came home and said he wanted it. He telephoned and put a deposit onit and picks it up Tuesday.
In shock please send virtual gin
. It's a ten month old Renault Captur. £20 road tax. Insurance should be cheaper than our current Renault Scenic.
On top of that my first smartphone arrived today. DH can't put sim in. Luckily our friend who recommended the phone and deal will help us sort it and transfer my numbers in. Not ordered a phone on line before.........Will take wine as a thank you.
Am having a jacket potato for lunch. Nice, comforting carbohydrate with a slightly defensive DH.
His phone says rain in 5 minutes. Offski to get the towels in.

Gintot. I don't have any gin or wine but I have some brandy, for medicinal purposes only
. Will that do ? I also have half a bar of white chocolate hiding somewhere, if you would like that too :rotfl:

That's exactly what my son-in-law said today, and he found the environmental health site for Thanet Council and I sent them an email. We have eaten there lots of times over the years as Westgate beach is our favourite spot for crabbing and fishing with the boys, and its the first time I have ever been ill from food there I wonder if anyone else had a problem yesterday. Luckily I am feeling considerably better this afternoon and am just relaxing with the boys and we are going to watch a movie shortly on TV, thanks chums for all your good wishes

Good afternoon everyone, thanks to redruby for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs one.
Jackie - I hope your poor tum settles you should definitely let the place know.
The weather is very mixed so far today and quite chilly, a cardi needed even indoors.
Evolving LOs on the menu today as I've turned some LO ratatouille bake into lasagne as I had it and quite a lot of milk that was reaching it's use by date so I've made a big pan of white sauce. Some for the lasagne and some for the freezer.
Feet up and book this afternoon though I'll be sitting in the conservatory rather than the garden.
I hope everyone has a good day x0
