help my bosch classixx washing machine wont spin.

Anyone able to help my machine has been making abit of a noise for a few days, went to take washing out this morning and it's still soaking wet.Put it back onto spin and drum not going round you can turn it by hand though and goes round fine.Looked in instruction book and says check the drain pump.the one that you twist i cant manage to turn moves slighty but seems well stuck.Rang up shop and they said i need to check this bit as something prob blocking inside this,Help how do i get it to move scared incase i break it or get it out and cant get it back together.Would feel better if i could check this before i have to pay someone to come out to it.Any suggestions please.the machine is a bosch classixx 1000 expresss.

Does the drum still turn if you try and do a normal wash.
If not, then it may be just the brushes that need replacing.

Definitely, it's a really good site - and you've just reminded me that I need to get over there and post my 'fridge filling with water' question!
  • Check there is no blockage, defective pump are the easy 2 possible reasons. The possibly worn brushes that require replacing more difficult and the it is either the timer or a programme fault you will almost need an engineer for this to rectify or buy a replacement washing machine.

im sure after 3 yrs the problem has been rectified.
    Get some gorm.
  • Not Gormless at all.
People search these threads with similar problems as I did.

My problem was brushes. Ask for general ones rather than the makers brand. My Bosh machine fixed for £9.60 (quote for Bosh spares £40plus!)
  • This thread was reallly helpful! I found it from google as my Bosch machine is not turning either - the details on this page will help me when a friend comes round tomorrow to look at it for me x

First thing you should check is the drain pump. If this is blocked, it isn't draining, and won't spin - if the thing for removing it won't turn chances are it is blocked and that's where you have to use brute strength, either by forcing it round or tilting the machine to knock whatever is causing the obstruction to move out of the way - Happened more than once to me when it's been bits of screwdriver or bra wires at fault.
