CHARLIE BARTLETTExpelled from yet another private school for his blossoming, though illegal, entrepreneurial activities, wealthy teenager Charlie Bartlett (Yelchin) finds himself at regular High School.
His smart, geeky appearance gets him a first day beating from the school bully so his overly medicated mother (Hope Davis) calls in the family psychiatrist to help him out. An opportunity not to be missed, Charlie sets himself up as the school agony aunt, dishing out advice and prescription drugs, courtesy of the family shrink, from the school rest rooms.
His charm, charisma and access to medication soon starts to win him new friends as well as the attentions of the principals daughter, much to the annoyance of the Principal (Robert Downey JR) a man battling his own demons in this cool, edgy comedy.Starring: Robert Downey JR, Anton Yelchin, Hope Davis, Kat Dennings, Tyler Hilton,Mark Rendall, Megan Park, Jake Epstein

Caramel
Nadine Labaki writes, directs and stars in this warm-hearted and deeply satisfying romantic comedy which takes in the hopes, fears and daily dilemmas of a group of feisty women running a busy beauty salon in Beirut. The light but attentive script is filled with thoughtful, well-rounded characters and Labaki shows great skill in presenting the funny side of some often life-changing social situations. Lovely stuff.

Shotgun Stories
Monday, 19 May 2008
Upon hearing that their estranged father has recently kicked the bucket, three deadbeat Southern siblings named Son, Boy and Kid decide, for posterity's sake, to gatecrash his funeral and remind the congregation of his no-good, drunken ways. The kids from his loving second marriage don't take to kindly to these allegations, however, and a petty regime of tit-for-tat violence plays out on the barren Arkansan plains. Jeff Nichols’ slow-paced and ironically funny tale of revenge gone wrong shows the brutal cause and effect of violent retribution and the ramifications of the decision to take matters of family pride one step too far.
