We have had a few cancelled tickets for The Hampstead Theatre performances of Ive Found My Horn.
Tickets are for tonight 10th November and Thursday and Friday
I Found My Horn by Jonathan Guy Lewis and Jasper Rees, based on the book by Jasper Rees which featured on Radio 4's Book of the Week.
Don't miss the funny and uplifting stage adaptation of Jasper Rees' book (seriealised on Radio 4's Book of the Week), opening this Tuesday. I Found My Horn is an inspirational and heart-warming tale charting one mans unconventional way of dealing with a mid-life crisis by re-embracing his old French horn! He sets himself a seemingly impossible task: to perform a Mozart concerto in front of a paying audience of horn fanatics. Performed by Jonathan Guy Lewis, this one-man show takes you on an adventure through music and beyond.
Trembling, gasping and semi-naked, a middle-aged man stands agape in a spotlight, his only protection against the terrifying darkness before him the gleaming French horn he clutches in his sweaty hands. This solo show is both the poignant tale of how that recalcitrant instrument brought its owner a sort of salvation, and a celebration of the joyous, life-affirming power of music.
Based on the book by the arts journalist Jasper Rees and adapted for the stage by the author and by Jonathan Guy Lewis, who performs the piece, the play unfussily and unpretentiously encapsulates something of the indefinable elation that art can bring to the human existence. It is also very funny. With his marriage over and his days assuming a grey predictability, Rees, poking through the debris of his past - ancient school reports, wedding photos - unearths the horn he failed to master as a child. Fluctuating between quixotic hope and wry pessimism, he sets himself an awesome challenge: to play Mozarts Horn Concerto No 3, K447, in a concert for the British Horn Society.

We have had a few returns/cancelled tickets for the 7.30pm performance of Fatal Encounter on 17th November, at The Haymarket, Basingstoke.
Fatal Encounter
Howard Mansfield is concerned for his wife Joanna, who has become unusually distressed and nervous. When he arrives home to find that Joanna has accidentally shot his former friend Perry during a struggle, he decides to protect her by confessing to the shooting himself. Although the police accept that the shooting was an accident, Perry's death leaves Howard caught up in a web of international blackmail, conspiracy and attempted murder.
Is the gallant Mark Adler who comes to Joanna's rescue all he seems? What is the involvement of the young Rex Winter? Is Perry's ex-wife Grace involved? And why is M.P.'s wife Hilary so worried?
The answers to all these question provide enough twists and turns to keep the audience guessing until the final unexpected showdown.
