Not a lot though, especially if you have configured the power settings for low power.Enterprise_1701C wrote: »also leaves it open to malware attacks if left on overnight/fully unattended.
Not in the slightest. You like ewveryone else these days probably has a router that will not allow incomming connections unless you initiate an outgoing one first.
As such not a chance for attack while it is idle. Unless you have configured something stupid and then you would already have been under attack.
In fact 99.9% of attacks are social engineering and you initiate them anyway.0 -

Restart computer. If it doesn't find the printer, drivers are here

No sign of OP, but this is what I would try first. Plug it in via usb turn it on, wait.interstellaflyer wrote: »I'm puzzled, I have a P2015n which is quite a bit older than the P1102 and it installed easily on my Windows 10 Laptop and also on my iMac and Macbook Pro both of which have the latest OS
I've had the same experience as you, never downloaded a driver to use with Win 8.1 or Win 10.
Canon i560, HP 1320 and HP 1505n all installed just by plugging in via usb.
Oldest I've done with Win 10 is an Epson Color Stylus 670 (?) from about 1997, installed in seconds.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
I went on HP website but there doesn't seem to be drivers for 64 bit Window 10 computers
Available here : https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-p1102-printer-series/4110394/model/41103030 -

it won't burn the house down, but leaving a w10 laptop on in the office just to install an update is really not a secure way to operate  I've had to go home an hour late on occasion because of this......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
