End of contract & moving house

Morning,

I'm about to come to the end of a 12 month contract with Plusnet.

I'm also about to move house.

If I cancel my contract at my current address, then apply for a new contract at my new address, am I counted as a new customer as my address has changed and so will be eligible for the better offers for new customers? Or will they be able to tell? What if I use a different email address?

Thanks for any advice offered!

As far as I know, you'll be classed as a new customer so will be eligible for cashback/new customers offers.

I don't think ISP's work like Sky TV where you have to have not been a customer for 12 months to be eligible.

If you're sticking with Plusnet why not ask them (don't give them your new address yet ;) ), they're usually pretty decent with offers I think.

You'll probably be hit with a cease charge on the line (£50?) because openreach will charge them to disconnect your broadband connection.

If you stay with your current provider then they may pick that charge up.

I was informed by plusnet that they would move the connection free of charge if i moved home mid-contract, not quite the same situation as yours but it doesn't hurt to phone them and see if you can work something out.

    £31 I believe.

If the person moving into the house does a working line takeover then there'd be no cease charge.
