Went through Prague the other day and a little surprised at the rather zealous gent who was challenging just about everyone at the gate and checking their boarding card and inviting those who did not pay for a large cabin bag to try the "sizer". I had a bag that was exactly the right size. So we went through the performance of me wearing a large quantity of clothing. The bag went in the "sizer" and passed. The bag was then repacked. Others were not so lucky although I was a little surprised at how large the bags were that folk thought could go in the cabin.
The young man was busy writing receipts.


35 euros a go I believe.

If I am being honest, I wish the airlines would do this more often. It is made clear what size bags are allowed. It's easy money for them if passengers don't follow the rules. What I object to is them splitting people up unless you pay extra to sit together. Or charging extra to guarantee that your hand baggage goes into the cabin.
