Is it freezing on the Giant Ibis with the air con? I took a bus in Mexico some years back & I had a cold by the time I got off 4 hours later.

Was going to ask something else but completely forgot what it was.

    Thanks all :D

Nope, a v.comfortable trip on an almost new bus.

We went from Siem Reap to Battambang on our next leg. Can't remember which bus company it was, but that route is classed as a 'B' route, and the buses are getting past their sell-by.

Got picked up from our accommodation, and taken to the bus compound. We were the last ones to arrive.....the bus was a beast, a rusty beast.

As soon as the driver turned on the ignition, all of a sudden a 1,000,001 mosquitoes broke their slumber, and they were all over the place. We had our mozzi spray handy so weren't too bad, but all you could hear were other passengers swearing and blatting the little pests.:)

Wow, sound good, think I may try & do the bus trip at least one way.

:rotfl: Is the Cambodian mozzie bad? I found the Cuban & Mexican mozzie bite was much worse than the Costa Rican one for example.

I'm almost ready to book the PP hotel now. I was thinking of the Anise Villa as they do 5 free items or laundry per day. If we stayed there on the way there & back for a few nights each way we could get a good deal of laundry done. Or The Kravan, but it's a bigger hotel. I was really keen on The House Boutique Eco at just £18 a night, but then I read a review saying they had rats in the kitchen  Also keen on The Omana. God it takes me ages to choose. I may book one for on the way there, & another for on the way back in PP. Then I'll decide where to go from PP, other than SR.

The Tea House is part of a group of locally managed "boutique" hotels in PP and elsewhere in Cambodia. The Pavilion and Blue Lime are among those also owned by the same group

We ate in Anise a couple of times. Food's good, place was clean but we didn't stay. You're in a good location too as you're close to mao tse toung/monivong intersection. You get to know those 2 roads very well in PP!

You're also pretty close to "Beautiful Shoes". Go there early on in your trip & get yourself some custom made shoes. I have 2 pairs of boots from there, the most comfy things I possess & wear all through the winter. On my 2012 knee high boots, the heels are finally needing a fix, my 2014 boots are looking as good as the day I collected them. About £25 a pair, 3 day turnaround, English speakers.

Can't comment on your other choices but if they're close to Anise, they're in a good location.

I eventually choose Omena Hotel, managed to get it for £21 a night after using bonus from ebookers, & going through TCB. May book Kravan Hotel for return trip. The thought of being in a sound proof room re-e-e-eally appeals.

WOW, will get some boots! Thanks.

    Be prepared.

It's like going into order a Subway sandwich. What colour, what heel, what detailing, what fastening, inside/outside of jeans? They have lots of examples to look at, so I would pick up about 5 shoes and point, this colour, this style, this fastening but smaller etc

Staff are very helpful, but have an idea of what you want before going in. They are happy to work from pics if you want them to recreate something.
