We have just landed home earlier today from 2 1/2 weeks in Vietnam. We had a fabulous time - Hanoi (including overnight cruise in Halong Bay, or rather BaiTu Long), Hue, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City. Will, hopefully, do trip reports on TA in next couple of days. Did initially consider including Cambodia as well but it was the right decision not to. Will bookmark this thread as would love to go to Cambodia.0

Thanks. What would you pay for a taxi for the day?
A SR taxi round the temples for 4 people was $25 for the day in 2014. He then came back in the evening and took us to town for dinner and back again. The hotel arranged it for us and it was cheap enough not to think I shall go and haggle elsewhere. The tickets to get into Angkor were in addition to the $25.
We're itching to go back to Cambodia and visit our friends - we're saving for a 2018 summer trip. It'll be our 4th time in that beautiful place, 3rd time with our kids. It's changed so much since our first visit in 2007. I'll never forget my first trip from the airport into central PP along a bumpy dirt track road. No longer like that now!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Oh yes was considering a taxi too, thought it took about 5 hours?
We'll be going September too.
Duke. Remember the road from Kathmandu to Pokhara......well the road from PP to SR isn't as bad or as dangerous, but the standard of driving is the same! You'll feel safer in the bigger the vehicle the better, ie. a Giant Ibis tourist bus.0 -

We paid US$20 each for a 1 day pass 4 years ago, I wonder in who's pocket the current US$37 ends up!0 -

IIRC-(we took Tuk-Tuk at $15)- Taxi was about $50/day
Advantageous if there are 4 of you but only really needed if you go to Lady Temple
Even then the Tuk-tuk drive was Ok-Takes about 45 minutes each way.
Other Temples are relatively close by-about 10-15 minutes drive.
Our driver supplied us with cold water and towels (storage under the seat) and driving open air gets the breeze going (albeit warm air...)0 -

You don't do so bad though Pete. I just can't seem to remember all the details these days
