G24 - Naive Error!

  • Thank you Redx.

I'm unsure of the terminology relating to LBC or MCOL but from doing a quick search online it appears that these originate from local authorities?

The G24 PCN's which we have received have all been as the result of being (legitimately) parked on "private property at Sports Direct Fitness" and have no reference to any local authority.

All input and advice is greatly appreciated, so once again, many thanks ...

no private parking company is an "authority" , they are simply third party contractors issuing invoices for perceived contracts with drivers or motorists

as for acronyms, please READ the Newbies sticky thread, the first 4 or 5 posts

LBC and MCOL are legal terms , look them up , especially MCOL which now originates from the Northampton CCBC government department (just like the DVLA is in Swansea)

you need to know EXACTLY what they are because you do not want them to be ignored by yourself or your family

come back and tell US what they actually are once you are aware

No, they don't. As Redx says, the NEWBIES thread tells all, what to do at every stage and explains all acronyms (I hope).

It also explains there is no 'next step' right now. Forget about it, collect the laughable threatograms (like we have!) and live your life.
Should I write to G24 as the registered keeper using one of the templates on this forum?

Should we move forward with the Independent Appeals Service which G24 give as an option in their rejection letter?
    Neither. Honestly relax, forget it.

We've never seen G24 sue anyone, but never say never. Keep all paperwork. All other stages are fairly pointless! Come back if you get a claim.

  • LBC = Letter Before Claim. MCOL = Money Claim Online.
As I said earlier - huge learning curve - but it's really great to have a forum such as this to give helpful feedback. Thank you!

Doubt you will need either v G24! You are lucky it's them, just collect the letters in case of a future claim within SIX years, and tell them in writing, your new address, if you move house ''them's the rules'' really, v a sad IPC firm of chancers. Very simple to ignore!

Oh, please complain to your MP about private parking firms. Please!

We need more MPs primed and aware.

By stating that your daughter wrote to G24 explaining that she was a named driver on the car etc it implies that you gave these scammers some degree of credence as a legitimate authority or reasonable company.
Please be advised you are dealing with greedy scammers that have no interest in car park management or any reasonable explanation or reasoning.

All they want is money, and it is quite possible that their contract with the gym includes a £10 or so cancellation clause which is one reason why the manager will be reluctant to cancel.
Of course the PPC is their agent and they can sort this out but don't want to, personally I would find one that values your custom.

This is a dirty scam industry, and the loathsome G24 have no interest in you what so ever, only what they can prise out of your pocket and they will lie and cheat to get it.
